Enabling Developer Console

 
In order to enable developer console, open options, go to ‘Keyboard and Mouse’, and set ‘Enable Developer Console’ to yes. Now open the console using the tilda key ( ` , the key below ‘escape’). 
 
 

How to Use Developer Console in Game

 
If you launch a game and try to use any form of cheat, the game will not let you even if you have server cheats on. This is because you need a listen server open. In order to open a listen server, go to the main menu, open the console, and type ‘map’ and then the map you want to play. Example: ‘map c1m1_hotel’ 
 
 

How to Use Developer Console in a Certain Mutation

 
From my last step you will be thrown into a campaign game, but what if you don’t want a campaign game? In order to do a mutation, you must type in the name of the mutation after the map name. Example: ‘map c1m1_hotel rocketdude’ or ‘map c1m1_hotel confogl’ 
 
 

How to Start a Versus Game

 
Now that you know how to launch a map, you can start a versus game. you just need to type the map name then ‘versus’ in order to launch a versus game. Example: ‘map c1m1_hotel versus’ Players cannot join your game from the server browser (from what I know) And you must invite friends. You can have a single player versus game by typing ‘sb_all_bot_game 1’ in console. And if you like switching teams ‘vs_max_team_switches 99’ 
 
 

Neat Commands

 
The console has tons of cool commands to use here are a few: 
 
-sv_cheats: Enables/disables the ability to use server cheats 
-kick: kicks the player/bot from the server, (can be used in single player to kick special infected) 
-god: Enables/disables god mode 
-noclip: Enables/disables the ability to move through walls and fly 
-give ‘item’: gives a specific item/entity/status to the player 
-kill: Kills the player 
-status: gives a list of information about the server/map 
-openserverbrowser: Opens the server browser 
-z_spawn ‘zombie’: Spawns a specific special infected
