Insurgency: Sandstorm Kicked from Server : Steam Authentification failed

 

Symptom

I wasn’t able to play the game, it connected to a server but kicked me from every server, even before I could get to the point to select a class.

Appreciation

I was able to play ok the night before but had changed Steam settings for Server Browser Pings as it took ages for the browser to come back with any results. I changed the setting from default 5000 ms to 250 ms as this was a recommendation to potentially fix the slow server browser.

Columboolean Operator’s personal WORKAROUND# 4.

Changing the Server Browser Ping setting back to the default of 5000 ms fixed it for me.
