Rain World Artificer Guide.

1 – Double Jump Efficiency

An artificer can double jump in five directions left, right, up, and diagonally left and right. Double jumping left or right is necessary to reach the longest distance. The diagonals aren’t as lenient. It is important to note that Artificer cannot perform double jumps upside down. So, when trying to jump up walls, you must do a double diagonal jump close to the wall to ensure that she doesn’t fall over.

2 – Melee Parrying

Artificer’s parry (after the double jump) is her second-best tool. However, not in the way that you think. In the Downpour trailers, it looked like the parry was primarily for defense against ranged weaponry like spears and lizard tongues; however, this isn’t the situation. The parry can be used as an assault weapon to knock down any creature within five feet of you. This is useful if you are surrounded or in tight spaces by the scav and do not have spears. Don’t play this game in multiplayer. You WILL stun your whole group.

3. Parrying is not about dropping objects

Parrying is a valuable technique. However, it can also be a hindrance. An artist may drop an item when parrying because the inputs for dropping items overlap (down + grab to drop things, and then down + grab and jump to parry). This can be very annoying when fighting. To combat this, it is recommended that you hit the jump button before down + grab. You can’t drop objects. This is because you can’t move into a crouch position in the air.

4 – Braids Shelter

If you’re anything like me I was, you’ll be unable to find a shelter in the middle of the Metropolis. After about 30 minutes of searching, I located one outside of the House of Braids when a centering decided to fly down there. The video below shows the exact location.
