Surviving Permadeath Mode

If you enable Permadeath mode in Cult of the Lamb and your character dies, your entire save file gets deleted – no exceptions. You can turn on both Permadeath and Penitence at the same time if you want an extra challenge.

To find your save file, go to C:/Users/YourUsername/AppData/LocalLow/Massive Monster/Cult Of The Lamb/saves and replace “YourUsername” with your actual Windows username. It’s not clear if the game tracks this across your whole computer or just for that user profile.

Handling Penitence Mode

In Penitence mode, letting your Hunger or Sleep meters empty out too much leads to a save file wipe, just like with Permadeath. And again, you can mix Penitence with Permadeath as well.

Your save location is the same path as mentioned above. Make sure to regularly sleep in the Leader’s Tent to skip ahead and refill your Sleep meter – even doing it at the last second before sunrise works.

Your save file can be accessed in C:/Users/Username/AppData/LocalLow/Massive Monster/Cult Of The Lamb/saves
Replace Username with the name you have instead. Unaware if this is tracked across the entire PC somehow.

Also, your followers tend to eat the first meal available, so cook your own food last if you want to stop them from grabbing your rations.
