To recruit new disciples a less renown sect needs to: 
 
1. Have an inner disciple, as only those would be safe enough on the road. If your sect doesn’t have an inner disciple yet but is in lucky possession of Forming Pill then it can promote one outer disciple by feeding them the pill right away, otherwise one would have to just focus on building up their foundation quickly. 
2. It is important to practice discretion on who’s going to be your envoy into mortal realm. The chances of successful recruiting are affected by one’s Charisma, Social Skill as well as Luck. 
3. Send the inner disciple on adventure into the bustling city. A small village won’t do as there aren’t many people there. 
4. Wait for an event to pop up and make your inner disciple exhibit the bearing of the Immortal. 
5. If you’re successful your new recruits will arrive once they cover the distance from the city to your sect.

There was a time when we, the Cait Sith Village, were quite in a pickle as we only had Cat Yaoguai then, who can’t really do any dirty work like building, logging and mining with the soft paws of their’s. 
 
 
 
Luckly we Cat Yaoguai are naturally charismatic and most of us are highly skilled in Social interactions. It might be more difficult to practice the Cait Sith Persuasive Recruitment Technique if you’re one of the less gifted species!
