Will I get VaC banned for this?

 
NO. Do not worry. Out of my 16 hours of gameplay (as of writing this), 14 of those hours were playing with the updated 30 tick rate. You won’t get banned from any servers, and you won’t get VaC banned. 
 
 

How to do it

 
1. Go to your Black Ops folder. 
 
This will depend on where you installed it, but usually, you can find it through 
Program Files (x86) > Steam > steamapps > common > Black Ops 
 
2. Click on > players, then > config_mp. 
 
3. Scroll down and look for > seta snaps “20”, simply change 20 to 30 (the maximum is 30). 
 
4. Exit and save the file. If you left Black Ops running while you did this, restart the game.
