what you’ll need
this worm is actually really big believe it or not, here is an accurate representation of just how big the worm is (it’s so big that it leaves ms paint)
so you’re gonna want a big arena in the sky, but don’t make it too high up or the annoying space gravity effects will be a disadvantage (unless you a potion that stops those effects)
also, if you press tab you can change your maps, you’ll want the map to be the transparent fullscreen map so you can keep track of the worm’s position at all times.
things you need to avoid:
since the worm is really big it’s easy for it to tangle up like headphones
(example of what to avoid)
instead you want to be running along a flat terrain that can keep the worm straight (unlike me)
recommended loadouts
now believe it or not a really big worm can actually be really hard, this means you’re gonna want good gear.
now ignore the bad gear I have on in the screenshot above you don’t want that for this fight.
i’ll give you my recommended gear for each class:
weapons:
melee: crescent moon (flail) galileo gladius (shortsword)
ranged: halley’s inferno (flamethrower)
magic: venusian trident (staff) stratus sphere (only use this for some quick damage if the worm is in a straight line as it is slow and unreliable)
summoning: calamari’s lament, ethereal subjugator
rogue: phantasmal ruin (spear), deep sea dumbbell (workout item), the reaper (big clump), jaws of oblivion (these things are stupidly good)
armour:
all classes: bloodflare armour
accessories:
melee: celestial shell, bloody worm scarf
ranged: artemis emblem
magic: sigil of calamitas, mana flower
summoning: statis’ curse, statis’ blessing, profaned soul artifact, star tainted generator.
rogue: dark god’s sheath, vampiric talisman
all classes: any wings, the community, affliction, reaper tooth necklace, heart of the elements, destroyer emblem, seraph tracers, the absorber.
attacks (more of what to avoid)
this will cover the attacks that this big worm does to you.
believe it or not worms deal a lot of contact damage, and this worm especially does loads, it won’t stop attempting to charge at you at very high speeds. The worm’s head is what you want to avoid really badly (it’s basically an insta kill)
the worm has well telegraphed attacks however, occasionally there will be a few attacks where the worm spits out a bunch of lasers on screen which are telegraphed by lines that you can see before the attack is shot out, these will be in a sort of x pattern.
and at some point in the fight there will be small bullet hell sections.
(as seen below)
this boss will also summon minions that are small and fairly easy to deal with.
oh god it has a second phase…
well as if the first section wasn’t enough, it has a second phase where it is bigger, faster and has more health. and to reach the second phase you not only have to beat the first phase, but if it’s your first time killing the first phase it will spawn in the 3 envoys of the devourer (signus, ceaseless void and the storm weaver) and only once you beat those will you get up to the worms second phase.
hopefully you can beat worm now
this guide was obviously really good and helpful and now you can beat devourer of worms.
Here we come to an end for tModLoader how to kill really big worm hope you enjoy it. If you think we forget something to include or we should make an update to the post let us know via comment, and we will fix it asap! Thanks and have a great day!
