This file configuration allows trees to respawn quickly and easily. Trees will respawn once you load back into the Save, much like any collectible items.

It’s your decision whether or not this is a cheat. However, it’s something that I don’t like. It’s a barren landscape without trees and woodlands that won’t grow around my base. It’s also worth noting that the previous game had always respawning trees and Sons of the forest all other saves respawn on loading the save.

How to respawn your trees.

Navigate to the directory below:

C:\Users\YourUser\AppData\LocalLow\Endnight\SonsOfTheForest\Saves\00000000000000000\SinglePlayer

(You can find the appdata file by using the windows search bar and searching “%appdata%”.

Once you have found the SinglePlayer folder, choose the folder with the most recently modified files inside, then open “WorldObjectLocatiorManagerSaveData.json”

Once you have done this, you need to replace all files within the file with

“Version”: “0.0.0”,”Data”:”WorldObjectLocatorManager”: “\”Version\”:\”0.0.0\”,\”SerializedStates\”:[],\”SerializedName\”:\”WorldObjectLocatorManager\”,\”UniqueFile\”:true”

Save the file.

This will reset all of the chopped down trees within your game. If this is what you want, it will be done every time you save the file.

Allow them automatically to respawn.

After you have completed all the previous sections, click on the edited document

WorldObjectLocatorManagerSaveData.json .

Set the “read only” attribute of True.

This will make them appear again every time the save file is loaded.
