In this guide, I will go over all the enemies in the Mines area, at the start of the game, detailing behaviour and tactics.
 
 

Heikkohurtta, or Weak Hound

This enemy will likely be the first enemy you will see as you enter the Mines.
 
Behaviour: Heikkohurttas will leap around randomly when they do not have a target, and can sometimes be found eating corpses. When they see you, they will leap towards you and attempt to hit you. Their glowing red eyes mean that you can see them even in undiscovered dark areas.
 
Tactics: Heikkohurttas are easily dispatched with any weapon, with even the weakest projectile spells killing them in two shots. Their leap can catch you off guard and has some knockback, but the Heikkohurtta has a short bobbing animation before their leap, giving you time to avoid. Generally, hovering in the air and shooting down at them is a good strategy, as you can boost slightly up or drop down to avoid their leap.
 
 
 

Heikko Limanuljaska, or Weak Toxic Slime

Behaviour: The Heikko Limanuljaska will fly around randomly until provoked. When attacking, they will move into range and fire globs of Toxic Sludge at you.The globs will drip toxic sludge behind them in flight, which can then coat terrain. When damaged, they can begin leaking out toxic sludge.
 
Tactics: Although not threatening due to their slow speed and projectiles, they can cover terrain in toxic sludge and make traversal dangerous, especially without water nearby. When fighting them, do not attempt to flee, they will chase you and you can end up in tiny spaces with little dodging room. Do try to engage them in large rooms and remain in the air. If possible, try to dodge over their projectiles to avoid the toxic sludge. Once you hit them, kill them as fast as possible. The toxic sludge they spurt out can be shot out quite fast and cover the room in toxic sludge very quickly. Don’t attempt to collect the gold they drop, unless it rolls away. It’s not worth being doused in toxic sludge for a single gold nugget.
 
 
 

Heikko Haulikkohiisi, or Weak Shotgun Hiisi

Behaviour: These are one of the earliest Hiisi encountered, jumping around in the Mines and shooting anything that isn’t a Hiisi. In combat, they will aim and ♥♥♥♥ their shotgun, before firing a blast of 3 pellets at their target. They can also do this while jumping to make your day worse. The pellets arc slightly and can bounce off of materials. If something is right next to them, usually a corpse or creature, they will smack that something with their shotgun.
 
Tactics: Keep moving. Standing still will almost certainly have you eat shotgun pellets. Shoot back at them as they prepare for another shot, and try and stay close to cover. Although the pellets can be hard to dodge, they have low health and several projectile spells will kill them before they can even prepare to fire another blast.
