…to the weapons “Guide”
Which is basically a list of all the weapons in the game found so far.
I’ve tried to group them thematically, but a few defy easy classification (the Jaw Axe has little in common with the 2-handed maces or swords, for example).
All are base weapons with no upgrades, but the number in brackets should be disregarded as these are based on the stats of the character(s) I used for the screenshots.
“Instruments” achievement is currently bugged
There is an achievement for collecting all weapons. It is currently bugged. There are only these 30 weapons available. Will remove this when it is fixed.
Maul Axe: given to you by Yon in Weeping Cavity.
Claw: purchased from Heod in Unformed Desert or the Assistant Trader at World Pillar.
Bellow Mace: found in the upper caves of Weeping Cavity.
Pillar Slab: found atop the spire at the highest point of Lithic.
Broken Yr Sword: found in a dark tunnel in Yr’s Den, to the left of the Tearfalls surrogate in Unformed Desert. While you don’t NEED the air dash to reach it (you can drop down and hug the left wall) it helps.
Finger Blade: found on the body of a pondering rockhead through a secret passage to the left of the Depths surrogate in Weeping Cavity.
Maul Sword: purchased from Heod in Unformed Desert or the Assistant Trader at World Pillar.
Rawblade: found next to an electric nerve cluster in Nerveroot, not far from the beginning of the zone entrance.
Servant Needle:picked up towards the start of the Servant’s Path, next to an NPC who tells you to take it. (Technically this is actually part of World Pillar. It’s before the hand gate onto the Path proper.)
Shaper:found in the upper reaches of Nerveroot. Use the additional momentum by jumping on the pullable platforms and do some fancy platforming to reach it.
Unformed Slab: hidden in a rock mouth on the Eastern side of Unformed Desert, above the rightmost entrance to Gloomnest and not far from the exit to Lithic.
Carven Greatsword:found in a pretty obvious “secret” ground passage in Nerveroot, East of the Path Servants.
Shapely Greatsword:Just after the hand gate into Servant’s Path there’s a dark room where you first saw Yon get his head smashed off. There are some breathfly lanterns on the ceiling that you can use Self-Pull on to grapple up to this greatsword. Since it’s named after the boss you get that ability from, this seems appropriate.
Fossil Fist:at the start of Unformed Desert, a block falls from the sky and smashes something. Head up and over it and find this amongst the pots.
Obelisk Fist: you’ll find this down in the bottom left corner of Lithic, after some vaguely tense platforming where you have to fall down through some smasher columns. Easier to get after beating the Mothers as the smashers have broken.
Twin Fangs:found on what is basically the “main path” through Weeping Cavity. Very unlikely to miss these.
Chisel Nails: found in a pit in the Carven Palace. From the entrance surrogate, take the ladder up and ride the platform along (parrying the spikes). You’ll see the Chisel Nails above you, but you can’t reach them yet. Head left and jump up all the timed platforms, then dash right, through the spiked vines, and carefully make your way down into the pit. The Chisel Nails are there at the bottom.
Yr Glaive:Findable quite early on. From the Tearfalls surrogate in Unformed Desert, head left and dash through the gap. Fall carefully down into the darkness and, at the bottom, head right. The Yr Spear Warrior there is pretty easy to parry but you can also bait him away and rush right to get the Yr Glaive and bug out if you want.
Curved Glaive: Also in Yr Den. You’ll need the Air Dash to get in this far. From where you found the Yr Glaive, dash through the gap in the open mouthed stone face and make your way down to (what appears to be) the bottom left of the area.
There are two versions of the Nail Scythe. The blue one is found in a secret passageway to the right of the Depths surrogate in Weeping Cavity which you can access really early in the game but need the slow walk trait to actually get to. The other is purchased from the Assistant Trader in World Pillar, but has slightly lower damage. You’ll need both for the INSTRUMENTS achievement.
Face Slasher is found smack bang in the middle of Gloomnest, literally just left of the Gloomnest surrogate behind a breakable wall. Watch out for exploding enemies in the tunnel beyond.
Bloodmetal Scythe: argued by many to be the coolest looking weapon in the game, this is sold by a vendor in a secret area WITHIN a secret area in Feaster’s Lair. From the Maulers surrogate, head down through the pretty room you fought the Jawcrab in, and keep on walking left until you spy two rockheads. They’re standing next to a secret passage. Walk through and smash the ground almost immediately after. Drop down and head left, then smash the ground again toward the end. You’ll find a room with Owl, a trader who will sell the scythe for 5000 mass.
Burst Lantern: found in what is technically Gloomnest but accessible the first time you make your way through Unformed Desert. From the Head Shell surrogate in Unformed Desert, head right until you find the drop down to where the Unformed Slab weapon is hidden in the stone face. Then rather than heading right to Lithic, head down left to where there is an Eyebrute. Defeat (or rush past) it to find a one-way wall to get you back out to Lithic, but also a passage down into Gloomnest where you can very quickly find the Burst Lantern.
Attuning Lantern:buy from the Assistant Trader at World Pillar for 1450 mass.
Wisp Lantern:found at the top of a vertical shaft at the very west of Nerveroot. Climb the shaft, avoiding the electrical surges, to claim the lantern from the ceiling.
Centipede Whip:Found at the far left of the Garden, but easily accessible as soon as you have a working World Pillar elevator. Head right from the bottom of the elevator, down the climbable ladder, and dash through the thorns into a not-very-well-hidden room on the left.
Bonegrinder: Buy from the Assistant Trader in World Pillar for 2150 mass.
Discarded Device:Found on the bottom level of Nerveroot, down and right from the Nerveroot surrogate. Quite hard to miss.
Jaw Axe:There are two ways to go to get this and both require Air Dash. The easiest is from the Sunken Bones surrogate. Head left and dash through the gap near Heod. You’ll probably die to the teeth but it should spawn you to the left of them. Head up and left and, next to an tarbile tooth item pickup, there is a breakable wall. In there you’ll find the Jaw Axe surrounded by teeth. Pull the tooth from the wall to stop getting chomped on (or use Item Pull if you’re late in the game and have it) and grab the axe.
