A guide for those who don’t know what IOD and HDH bullets are.

Short Introduction

These bullets have been around since the first God Eater and have always been one of the strongest bullet builds. You will find a lot of HDH and IOD bullet recipes online that were strong in God Eater Burst but perform poorly in Resurrection. This is because God Eater Resurrection has new types of bullet modules that can replace old recipes which may deal more damage and/or cost less OP. Moreover, with the new Blast gun, you could further experiment with new bullets without worrying about OP thanks to the Blast gun’s OP reserve.

I’m making this guide to explain what HDH and IOD bullets are and why you should use them if you’re planning on using the guns as a main weapon for damage. Even if you don’t use the gun form, this guide should at least help you optimize the use of your gun form if you are the kind of guy that just hacks and slashes enemies. Moreover, these bullets are super OP (in my opinion) and should help you breeze through missions with ease. These bullets will also drastically help you in farming, achievement grinding/hunting, and tackling Perilous missions.

If you haven’t picked a main gun to use for these bullets, I have provided a section stating the advantages and disadvantages of the sniper and blast gun with the bullets. It’s up to you which to pick which gun suits your play style. I will also include the bullet recipes I use for these guns for those who want to try them. As of the moment, I think they’re pretty optimized, but feel free to customize the bullets if you think it can still be improved.

Note:
This guide will only apply for the Sniper and Blast gun. The Assault guns and Shotguns are better for spamming bullets at the enemy.

Head Direct Hit Bullets

HDH Bullets for short, these bullets do not require you to aim and is good for overall damage output. If you don’t plan on breaking a specific bond of an Aragami, the HDH bullet can be your main damage dealer. It generally uses less OP than IOD bullets and helps players focus more on dodging and devouring. And because it shoots upwards, you could shoot it anywhere you wish and it will always hit your target.

The basic structure of a HDH Bullet is as follows:

GOD EATER RESURRECTION IOD and HDH Bullets For Sniper & Blast Guns

-The same recipe can be done for the Blast gun. However, the bullet will do no damage if you’re planning on using the Gravegun: Grabbro. It’s best to use bomb modules If you do plan on using HDH bullets with the Gravegun. (an example is provided at the bullets recipes section.)

Internal Organ Destruction Bullets

IOD bullets for short, these bullets usually deal more damage than the HDH bullets but you need to know what an aragami’s weak spot is in order to use the bullet’s full potential. It is ideal for concentrating the damage output to a certain Aragami’s part in order to quickly break it’s bond.
Unlike the HDH bullet which can smoothly translate to the blast gun and still remain useful, IOD bullets are more of a sniper efficient bullet (With the exception of two specific Blast guns).

The basic structure of an IOD Bullet is as follows:

-The same recipe can be done for the Blast gun. However, this bullet will be useless if you’re planning on using the Gravegun: Grabbro.

What gun to use

The gun you’ll use will affect the way you fight and how strong your bullets will be. I’ve listed their advantages and disadvantages in battle to help you see the comparison of the two. Both gun’s are like a double edged sword, it’s best for you to decide which one will compliment your play style and stick with it for the long run. Gathering Abandoned God Arcs for will always be a pain, so it’s best to choose the gun you really want.

1.) Sniper

GOD EATER RESURRECTION IOD and HDH Bullets For Sniper & Blast Guns
-The Sniper is good for dealing piercing damage. Moreover, if your HDH and IOD bullets contain sniper modules, the damage you deal against the Aragami you’re fighting increases as you go farther from the target.

-The Sniper can zoom twice with the cross hair and has the special ability of hiding your presence called “Stealth Field” when you do not have the Aragami’s attention. These two abilities can be used alongside skills like Hidden Attack and Muted for surprise attacks that may give you a slight advantage in initiating a battle with an Aragami. The Stealth Field also helps you heal or take other pills like OP ampules or Boosters if you need it without being spotted by any Aragami in the area.

When it comes to HDH and IOD bullets, the sniper is the ideal gun for these bullets if you are planning on becoming a gunner main. It allows you to play more aggressive if you pair it with the right melee God Arc and predator styles.

Note:
– To zoom, Activate the crosshair by holding q, then hold it again for the first zoom then press e to get the second zoom. These controls will work if you play on default keyboard settings.
– One sniper has a higher crush property than pierce called “Oni”.

The disadvantages of using the sniper:
-Some Aragami tank the damage of your HDH and IOD bullets (Like the Fierce Kongou) making them one of the worst weapons to use against it.
-It limits you to use low cost healing bullets due to the OP limit.
-Stealth Field becomes useless after initiating the fight against an Aragami and when you run out of stun grenades to use in order to activate it.

2.) Blast

GOD EATER RESURRECTION IOD and HDH Bullets For Sniper & Blast Guns
-The Blast gun is good for dealing crushing damage. It is the only gun type with an OP reserve, this lets you store OP so you could shoot more bullets or store enough OP for a bullet that costs more than 150 OP. You can store up to 9 full OP reserve bars until it stops you from storing more into the gun. It is the ideal gun for players that want to play as a healer or use cost heavy bullets. It also gives room for you to make bullets that look fancy with decent amount of damage.

When it comes to HDH and IOD bullets, the Blast gun is best fit for players that want to play a supporting role in a party. Because the kind of HDH and IOD bullets you’ll have for the blast gun will either cost a lot of OP or will under perform with the Blast gun. However, There is a crushing HDH variant you can only use with the Blast gun to deal a massive amount of crush damage to an enemy. Moreover, you could use bullets that can drastically heal your allies like https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCjBN53kaXrz3tdribKIIQKg‘s “Maelstrom Heal” Bullet found in https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sddhd16xZ9c video. (I know it’s from God Eater 2 Rage Burst but you can still use the bullet in God Eater Resurrection without the blood bullets.)

Note:
Two Blast guns have equal crush and pierce damage properties. These two are the “Striver” and “Oh Mein Gott”.

The disadvantages of using the Blast gun:
– The HDH bullets you can use for the Blast gun shoots slower than the sniper and a sniper bullet based IOD bullet will under perform due to the Blast gun’s higher crush damage properties.
– It is a high risk high reward gun, if you miss, it would mean wasting a lot of OP.
– It isn’t the ideal weapon for farming specific Aragami materials that require you to break a specific bond in order to guarantee the material you need.

My Bullet recipes

Here are the bullet recipes I use when I play. I don’t use an IOD bullet recipe for the Blast gun because I only use it when I play as a support player in multiplayer.

2.) Blast gun Bullets

HDH Recipe (low cost and faster to fire)
* Do not use this recipe if you’re going to use Gravegun: Grabbro. It will just deal 0 damage if you do.

* If you’re going to use this recipe for Gravegun: Grabbro, remove the Deco Bomb modules. Because those modules will only deal 0 damage and waste OP if you keep it.

Final Words

Thank you for reading this guide. Before I end this guide, I’d like to add a few more tips that will help with your gun play.

1.) Use the Predator Style Cornix for refilling your OP. Using it will help you recover OP faster, use it alongside skills like Oracle Absorption and/or Oracle Recovery.
2.) Using Ammo Master (For Shot modules), Bomb Master (For Bomb Modules), and Pyro Master ( For Radial Modules) will increase your bullet’s damage. If possible, try putting these skills to your God Arc or craft the upgrade for it.
3.) Get Trigger Happy and Frugal to decrease the OP you need to use a bullet. Frugal will decrease the cost of your bullets by 2% per level while Trigger Happy consumes stamina in exchange for decreasing the OP cost of your bullets. (A Level 10 Frugal skill will decrease 20% of the OP cost of your bullets. Don’t use Trigger Happy unless it’s level 10.)

That’s pretty much it for me, I’ll add more here if I think it needs more information or when someone helps me improve the contents of this guide. Thank’s again for reading this guide, please rate it and add it to your favorites so more people will see this guide. Here’s a picture of my Female Avatar to end this guide.
