This guide will teach you how to assemble a boat that have everything you’ll need to survive on the ocean in the winter, summer etc. What I aimed for when making this boat was to make sure I had access to pretty much all the basic needs structures for survival in a single boat.
 
 

INTRODUCTION

Firstly, I would like to point out that this guide is for the boat only, therefore I’m going to assume you know all the components/resources that will be asked.
 
 
This boat will have a normal fire pit, an endothermic fire pit, 2 sails, 1 steering wheel, 1 anchor, crock pot, ice box, 2 fishin’ bin and 2 chests.
 
 

 
 
 

MATERIALS

You’ll need: 20 boards, 13 cut stone, 12 rocks and 2 logs, 16 ropes, 16 silk, 7 gold nugget, 2 nitres, 2 electrical doodads, 1 gear, 6 twigs and 6 charcoal. These others are from when you talk to Pearl and fish a Splittlefish, adding more 4 boards, 1 cut stone, 2 ropes and 1 Spittlefish (for Pinchin’ Winch and Fire Pump).
 
 
With these you can have pre-crafted the fire pit, endothermic fire pit, crock pot, ice box, one of the two fishin’ bin and a chest, use the other resources to make 1 lightning conductor, 2 sails, 1 steering wheel and 1 anchor, you should have leftovers for another fishin’ bin and chest.
 
 
 

ASSEMBLING THE BOAT

Everything done here is with the help of Geometric Placement mod for Don’t Starve Together, if you don’t have it, here’s the link: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=351325790 – [steamcommunity.com] 
 
 
Place the boat on the water and jump on it, position your camera in a way that the Retractable plank of the boat is oriented to the south or below you character. Now with the help of the screenshot below place your fire pits on each side.
 
 

 
 
The sails are placed between the fire pits and between them, the chest, I like to call it the “fuel chest” or “boat stuff only chest”, finally, attach the lightning conductor on one of the masts.
 
 

 
 

 
 
Now the crock pot, choose one side of the boat (behind the endothermic fire pit or the other), leave 3 “Xs” of distance from the edge (this way you’ll be able to walk around the crock pot).
 
 

 
 
The ice box can be place between the crock pot and the fire pit.
 
 

 
 
From the opposite side of the fire pits on the edge of the boat, right in the middle, place the steering wheel, in front of it, the anchor, in front of it, the Pinchin’ Pinch and then the Fire Pump when you have access to them. Look at the sequence of screenshot below.
 
 

 
 

 
 
The Fishin’ Bin can be placed between the steering wheel and the crock pot, just mirror the placement on the other side if you’d like to.
 
 

 
 

 
 

 
 
Final note, in case you don’t have the Pinchin’ Winch and Fire Pump from the start you’ll have to place them “manually” later using the bind you assigned to in Geometric Placement to freely move the structure, since once the boat’s been moved, Geometric Placement will lose it’s precision.

Problems I’ve Ran Into

Since you need the Geometric Placement mod for very accurate positioning, after you move your boat around and try replacing broken masts or the Pinchin’ Winch and Fire Pump, things will prove to be a little bit of an annoyance.
 
 
The fire pits need to be placed on the edges to avoid occupying too much space in the middle, thus making it impossible to move around them, this is problematic when Wavey Jones (shadow creature) decides to give you a visit and plants himself right behind the fire pit, I recommend you stop the boat at night if you hear his whispers.
 
 
The masts might get you stuck between them and the fire pits if placed too close to the fire pits after being removed from their “perfect” position of the Geometric Placement mod (like when malbatross flies through them).
