Introduction

Hello! If you're reading these words, you probably are interested in speedrunning Crypt. I don’t know why you would want this, but I’m here to help. I have a mod to help you time your runs.
 
 
This guide will speedrun the game. This guide will help you install the mod. This guide is written with Windows users in mind. Unix (Mac/Linux) users will need to install the guide differently.

Installing the mod

Step 1: Download and install the mod

 
 
Download the latest mod version here
https://github.com/clydejallorina/CryptSpeedrun/releases – [github.com]
 
 
 
Download the latest version and extract it. Keep the window open as we will be copying files from this window later.
 
 
It is highly recommended that you use the latest version. Previous versions might have different behavior than the latest one.
 
 

Step 2 – Find the location of Crypt

 
 
This can be done by right-clicking Crypt in Steam's library, hovering over "Manage", followed by "Browse local documents".
 
 

 
 
This should open File Explorer, showing you where Crypt is stored. It is normally kept at:
 

steamapps/common/Crypt/

 
This may vary depending on Steam's configuration.
 
 

Step 3 – Copy the mod files.

 
 
Now that you have both the mod file and where the game is kept, it's time for them to be combined. Copy and paste the folders and files from the extracted folder into your Crypt folder. The Crypt folder should now look like this:
 
 

 
 

Step 4: Check it out to make sure it works

 
 
Once you have copied the files into the folder it is time for you to verify that it is all connected properly. Double-click on Crypt.exe and open the game. If the mod is properly hooked up, the main menu should contain an asterisk ((*) next to the version numbers.
 
 

 
 
Congratulations! The mod has been installed! Enjoy(????) is the speedrunning adventure!
