Ultimate guide to this wonderful game. Nothing superfluous and obvious. Only subtleties that many are silent about.

Introduction

I would like to start by saying that in BPM, the main winning strategy is skill. With any set of items, stats, guns, etc. my win rate is 9 out of 10 successful races (not counting the races on characters with 1 hp), and the latter is lost most often due to stupidity. Also, it is as foolish as possible to write obvious combinations of items like a minigun with infinite cartridges, because of their obviousness, as well as the randomness in the game. There is a chance that you simply will not meet certain items during the race. That is why, the most common advice before starting this guide is to get used to the rhythm, and in the process of dozens of races, learn the opponent’s movesets.

Statues, chests and other activated interior items

Chests

After clearing each room, you are rewarded with one of these random chests (from most frequent to rare):

Plain Chest

You get this chest if you pass a room with a rhythm error or taking damage (the rhythm streak is also reset)

Awards:

  • Money bag (3 to 5 coins)

Lucky Dice

BPM: BULLETS PER MINUTE Ultimate Guide

Shield Converter (converts all shields to constant hp)

  • Skeleton key (essentially endless keys, drops most often from the Devil statue with a fairly high chance)

Weapon Chest
BPM: BULLETS PER MINUTE Ultimate Guide

As a reward, you get a random weapon. If you get this chest for the second time for a race, instead of a cannon, there will be an additional cartridge in the clip. Also, this chest appears with a 100% chance when the level modifier Castle Asgard I (about the level modifiers later in the manual) in the room with the tower.

Altars, statues and the like

One of the following appears in almost every room: 3 cursed chests, a Statue-Altar to increase one of the stat, a statue with a donation of an indefinite number of keys / coins, and an altar with a sacrifice hp. If you see any of this, you can no longer look for the statue in this room.

Statues with an undefined donation of keys / coins
BPM: BULLETS PER MINUTE Ultimate Guide

BPM: BULLETS PER MINUTE Ultimate Guide
Devil Statue
Angel statue

Angel and Devil Statue: You donate 1 to 6 coins (Angel) or keys (Devil) to receive one of the following (in order from most common to rare):

  • Random stat
  • Random item of equipment
  • Random ability
  • Random Ultimate
  • Random weapon
  • Skeleton key (essentially endless keys, drops most often from the Devil statue with a fairly high chance)

3 cursed chests.
BPM: BULLETS PER MINUTE Ultimate Guide
3 locked chests, two of which contain a mob-fly, and one of which contains a reward (in order from most frequent to rare):

  • Money bag (3 to 5 coins)
  • Shields
  • Major health potion (these three have the same probability)
  • Random stat
  • Item of equipment
  • Ability
  • Ultimate ability

Most often, any garbage falls out – I do not advise spending keys on this, because with a high probability you will spend 2-3 keys.

Altar with a sacrifice hp (Damocles sword)
BPM: BULLETS PER MINUTE Ultimate Guide

You spend 25 HP to get one of the following:

  • Bag with money
  • Increase max. xn
  • Key

You see what you are giving hp for.
Damage can be avoided with some abilities: shield, Valkyrie’s Veil
Statues-altars that increase stats.
Each statue has its own statue. You donate one coin to one statue and increase your stat by 1 unit. It’s simple.
BPM: BULLETS PER MINUTE Ultimate Guide

Secrets

There are also secrets in some rooms. They are usually led by some kind of jump puzzle. They contain either one of the statues (most often an Angel or Devil) or a secret chest,
in which the chance of finding a gun or piece of equipment is increased.
BPM: BULLETS PER MINUTE Ultimate Guide
If you see a place for a secret, where there used to be a kind of rise, but now there is no – you can not try to get there, it makes no sense. No approach, no reward. But this is not always the case. There are some places that you can’t just go to on purpose. There is always a secret chest. To get to such secrets, you need to find a flight / triple jump / high jump or a cannon on which you can rocket jump.
BPM: BULLETS PER MINUTE Ultimate Guide

Stats

Stats are the path to success. Above, I have already disassembled statues for pumping stats – this is not the only, but the cheapest and most reliable way of pumping.

BPM: BULLETS PER MINUTE Ultimate Guide

Abilities. There are various abilities in the game, and this stat enhances them. For example, money rain will give you more coins. The situational stat depends on what you plan to play with, what you got in the beginning, and so on. Rating 7/10

BPM: BULLETS PER MINUTE Ultimate Guide

Crits. In this game, crits work differently than we used to. A critical hit is a shot at an enemy’s vulnerable point. In most humanoid monsters, the head is a vulnerable point. Others may have legs, butt, back, etc. For example, such a point in a spider is its glowing backside.
BPM: BULLETS PER MINUTE Ultimate Guide

Increasing the stat increases the damage to these vulnerable points. So, I think this stat is extremely useless and I advise you not to spend money on it if there is a deficit in it. Because, even though at first it seems that we essentially have a donovodka within a rhombus – crit is counted only when the point in the middle of the sight is aimed at the vulnerable point of the enemy. Keeping track of the rhythm, projektails, and even aiming somewhere by a small dot is not a good idea. You can try at any convenient moment, for example, at first, giant spiders very cheerfully fall off with 1-2 hits in the crit zone. But stat doesn’t boost the game practically in any way. Rating 1/10
BPM: BULLETS PER MINUTE Ultimate Guide

Damage It’s simple. Damage increases damage. I advise you to take it as soon as you see this statue. I throw a coin into it at once in 8 out of 10 cases. 9th case – the stat is already maxed out for full. The 10th case is about the beginning of the game, the lvl is cleared, there is nowhere to take money, I have not yet looked at the store or the armory on this lock (about them later in the manual) and my balance is a multiple of the cost of an item of equipment in the store (7 coins) or a cannon in the armory, subject to the cindergun in my hands (5, 15 and 30 coins). Rating 10/10
BPM: BULLETS PER MINUTE Ultimate Guide

Luck. Increasing this stat increases loot from mobs, increases the quality of loot from chests and statues. Just a useful stat, nothing too interesting. You can safely throw a coin, but do not count on mountains of gold. Rating 8/10

BPM: BULLETS PER MINUTE Ultimate Guide

Range. An extremely useful stat, since in this game most weapons have a limited range of fire. Literally from the first seconds of the game, you understand this, aiming at the mob and seeing the inscription “ too far “. Again, a situational but extremely useful stat on most guns. Shotgun? We take a stat. Long range rifle? Not necessary. There is also an item that makes an infinite distance. In any case, I consider it the second most useful stat after damage. Rating 9/10
BPM: BULLETS PER MINUTE Ultimate Guide

Speed. Again, everything is very simple. Speed increases movement speed. It can be ignored at first, but at least a little should be pumped into the second half of the race. A small bullethell begins and it is needed there. There are many items that boost speed, but also, there are many items that are much better and more useful than these items in these slots. So everything is situational. Rating 5/10

Rooms (under development)

Besides the usual monster rooms, there are other special rooms as well. (for the symbols on the minimap, see the screenshots in the upper left corner)

Huginn’s shop

BPM: BULLETS PER MINUTE Ultimate Guide - Huginn's shop
It is indicated by a flag icon on the minimap. Equipment, healers and stats are on sale. In one version of the room there is a secret. Guaranteed to appear on every floor (excluding situations with a level modifier – Shopless
BPM: BULLETS PER MINUTE Ultimate Guide
The shop initially contains 2 pedestals, but can be upgraded to 7. Spending coins increases loyalty and unlocks more pedestals. Has the following positions:

The first two positions open by default:

  • Minor Potion of Healing for 2 Coins
  • Major Potion of Healing for 4 Coins

At the next level of pumping the store is added:

  • Increase max. hp for 4 coins
  • Shield for 4 coins
  • Key for 4 coins

At the next level of pumping the store is added:

  • Random item of equipment for 7 coins
  • Random stat for 7 coins
  • Increase max. hp for 7 coins
  • Lucky Dice for 7 coins
  • Shield Converter for 7 coins
  • Skeleton key for 7 coins

At the next level of pumping the store is added:

  • Free Lesser Healing Potion

or

  • Free Greater Healing Potion

BPM: BULLETS PER MINUTE Ultimate Guide

Shop’s secret

BPM: BULLETS PER MINUTE Ultimate Guide

Muninn’s armory

BPM: BULLETS PER MINUTE Ultimate Guide - Muninn's armory

Weapons are sold in the armory. For 5, 15 and 30 coins. Although they have some sort of rarity (there are 3 of them in total, for 5 coins only the first shooting range, for 15 coins there can be both the first and the second, and for 30 any of the three shooting ranges randomly) – often the rarest does not mean effective …
Initially, only 1 cannon is available. To open the rest of the jokes, you need to spend the following amounts in the armory:

  • Second cannon 10 coins
  • Additional cartridge for the magazine 50 coins
  • Third cannon 100 coins
  • Increased damage 250 coins
  • Table with an Additional cartridge in the store or increased damage 1000 coins

Bank

BPM: BULLETS PER MINUTE Ultimate Guide - Bank
You can throw extra coins into the bank to use them in the future, in other races. But there is a limitation – you can donate only 10 coins at a time, although you can take as many as you like. Also, after you donate 100 or more coins, a secret wall will open in the bank every time you enter the bank, behind which there will be a chest.

Challenge room

BPM: BULLETS PER MINUTE Ultimate Guide - Challenge room
In the center of this room there is a lever, pulling on which a fight with monsters will begin. After clearing the room, a low tier chest will appear. You can clear 2 more waves, naturally with increasing difficulty of the mobs. After the third wave, Challenge Chest
BPM: BULLETS PER MINUTE Ultimate Guide
As a reward from it you can get:

  • Random stat
  • Item of equipment
  • Ability
  • Ultimate ability
  • Skeleton key
  • Weapons
  • There is something else (to be added in the future)

Most often, these rooms are completely useless. Because the difficulty is not proportional to the rewards you receive. I advise you to avoid them. You can fly into them on 1 wave, if you do not have enough for something 1-2 coins, and the entire lvl is cleaned. Or, you have put together a good build and want to test yourself in action.

Treasure room

BPM: BULLETS PER MINUTE Ultimate Guide - Treasure room
The treasury contains Golden Chest
Also behind the chest, with a certain chance, another chest appears – Pain Chest and a transparent wall that deals damage.
BPM: BULLETS PER MINUTE Ultimate Guide

BPM: BULLETS PER MINUTE Ultimate Guide
As a reward from it you can get:

  • Random stat
  • Item of equipment
  • Ability
  • Ultimate ability
  • Weapons
  • There is something else (to be added in the future)

Library

BPM: BULLETS PER MINUTE Ultimate Guide - Library
Contains an ability or ultimate ability. The item can be seen through the door window before opening, allowing players with a keen eye to try to identify it. A key is required to open.
I advise you not to ignore these rooms, because there are a lot of imbo abilities, and I advise you to spend the key on libraries if you choose between a gold chest.

Gambling room

BPM: BULLETS PER MINUTE Ultimate Guide - Gambling room
After inserting a coin, a random result will occur:

  • Nothing
  • An enemy appears (Fly, skeleton magician, Soul, Mother of flies)
  • Standard tier of low tier items

Roulette can jam at any time)))

Boss challenge room

BPM: BULLETS PER MINUTE Ultimate Guide - Boss challenge room
The bottom line is the same as with the arena, but only once. You pull the lever – a miniboss appears. After winning, get Challenge Chest . As in the case of the arena, I do not advise going there. There are, of course, very easy bosses, but more often ♥♥♥♥ spawns. You are wasting your nerves. Although, again, if you have a cool build, go for it.

Reroll room

BPM: BULLETS PER MINUTE Ultimate Guide - Reroll room
Inserting one coin spawns a random item that can be re-rolled up to 9 times. Stops accepting coins after the item has been taken or after 10 coins have been inserted.
Absolutely anything appears (possibly except for guns, but I’m not sure if you need to test), so you need to poke it a couple of times. Who can give up Double Damage for 2 coins?)

Prestige room

BPM: BULLETS PER MINUTE Ultimate Guide - Prestige room
In this room, you pay 30 coins to keep the effects of all items of equipment, while removing them from the slots, which allows, in fact, to carry 8 items.

(I haven’t tested yet whether items are saved in the run pool. That is, if you put on double damage during a normal run, you won’t find another one while you are wearing this one. So, it is not known if this works for sure also, as if it were worn on you. And if not, do the same Double damage stacks. And if they stack, then how? Increases the final one, i.e. x4? Or the default, i.e. x2 + x2? questions and few answers. I will test. I would be glad to have any information on this)

Quite a gimmick, but in the game, so far, there is no resistance to the player with eight items. (yes, in fact, there is no xD with four either) So we are waiting for an analogue of the alternative location of the second Asgard (Asgard crypts), some cellars of Helheim: D
By the way, about the crypts.

Asgard Crypts

BPM: BULLETS PER MINUTE Ultimate Guide - Asgard Crypts
It is a transition to an alternative location of the second Asgard. It sometimes appears on the first floor (according to my observations, it appears more often at higher difficulties)
Crypts are a pretty serious challenge, you should go there if you already have a good build on the first floor or your skill and initial weapon are quite high. If your strength (build or skill) allows you to go there – by all means go. There are 100% chance of spawning on this floor two very interesting rooms. Which we will talk about below.

Tribute room

BPM: BULLETS PER MINUTE Ultimate Guide - Tribute room

An altar to which you can donate 50 coins. For each coin, a random stat will increase. Even if the stat is already maximum, it will try to increase it (the coin will be spent, but there will be no effect). Thus, having farmed the first floor and the crypts, you can gain almost all the stats to the maximum.

Well Room

BPM: BULLETS PER MINUTE Ultimate Guide - Well Room
Contains items of equipment of each of 4 types (head, armor, arms, legs) on pedestals. When you select one of them, the other 3 will drop into bottomless pits, and they cannot be picked up, even if the player gets to them quickly enough. The pits will inflict damage if the player jumps for objects. If I’m not mistaken, then every time you take an item of the same type, the next time in its place will be an item of a higher tier. For example, for shields, the maximum shooting range is double damage.

Space Gravity is reduced.
Shopless There will be no shops on this floor.

Conclusion

PLEASE UNDERSTAND. MY NATIVE LANGUAGE IS RUSSIAN AND IT IS VERY DIFFICULT FOR ME TO DO THE MANUAL IN A FOREIGN LANGUAGE. I ASK FOR YOUR HELP IN CORRECTING ERRORS FROM THE POINT OF VIEW OF LINGUISTICS.

This guide is under development. It will be gradually replenished. I am waiting for your wishes, questions or information that can be supplemented with this manual. Do not ask for item combinations and their descriptions – this is a shaft on the wiki and other guides. I don’t want to talk about enemies and bosses either, if necessary, I can write tactics against bosses in the future, but in a separate guide, marked with spoilers. Because studying opponents is an integral part of this game. Looking forward to your feedback! ^_^

  1. Hey, awesome guide, quick note though “replenished” is not the correct word to use at the end of your guide in the line “This guide is under development. It will be gradually replenished.”

The sentence should ready “It will be gradually updated.”

    Cheers.
