I thought i'd share one my builds since there are not many guides.

Build

First, let me warn you that this build works well. However, there is one problem. This causes your energy to vanish if it travels too long. Also, this build may cause some lags.
 
 

 
 
This is how the build could look with all of the essentials in order.
 
 
 

Explanation

 
 
The weapon of choice for us is the Metallic Wand. We love the MANA scaling of this weapon, so we stack it as a mage.
 
 

 
 
We will need to have a second metallic wand in order to do massive damage if we can get this relic.
 
 

 
 
This relic serves the exact same purpose, only it is stronger for multiple turns and weaker in the beginning. Although optimally, we don’t need a second turn.
 
 

 
 
Even more damage.
 
 

 
 
This is our shield. Unfortunately, its item category is only an accessory so it doesn’t have shield buffs. It does keep us alive for quite a while. Depending upon the items you find you might decide to abandon defense and focus on damage.
 
 

 
 
Because our Core starts our energy, it is crucial to place it. A feature that causes your remaining energy to disappear after a certain time. It is very important to make a circuit as small and compact as possible.
 
 

 
 
More energy and, most importantly, more charge means more time.
 
 

 
 
This is how our extra charges grow in size and live long. But two is enough as that's enough to make our energy disappear.
 
 

 
 
Absolute must possess (or an equivalent item with the same function as). This transforms our energy into MANA. MANA is not able to be recharged by itself, so it is necessary for every mage build!
 
 
 

Circuit

 
This is how it looks. I added two returners at both ends to make it infinitely loopable.
 
 

 
You could also swap the returners to make a circle by adding two corners.
 
 
It is important to place the core/batteries outside your loop to reduce the required distance/time.
