How to Skip Intro Videos in Tony Hawk’s™ Pro Skater™ 1 + 2

Hey there! Want to jump right into the action and skip intro videos in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2? Here’s a quick and easy way to do it.

A Quick Heads-Up

Just so you know, if Steam updates the game or if you mess around with the game’s integrity settings, you’ll likely undo these changes. So, it’s a smart move to back up any files you’re going to tinker with, just in case you want to go back to the original settings.

How to Say Goodbye to Those Intro Videos

Look, we all love cinematic intros, but sometimes you just want to skate, right? You can bypass the intro by simply messing around with the game’s video files a bit. Don’t worry; it’s easier than landing a kickflip!

Finding the Right Video Files

Go to your THPS installation folder. You’ll see a lot of sub-folders but aim for this one: “\Steam\steamapps\common\THPS12\Base\Content\Movies\”. Once there, you have the freedom to skip one, some, or all of the following video files:

  • Logos (You probably don’t need to see these every time)
  • Intro Videos & Loading screens (If you feel adventurous)
  • Note: Some videos are actually useful, so think twice before skipping those (Not Recommended)

Two Simple Ways to Skip Videos

So, how do you actually skip these videos? You’ve got two options:

Option 1: Just Rename the File

Rename the video file and simply add “(disabled)” to the end of it. For example, change ‘Beenox_1080_30fps.mp4’ to ‘Beenox_1080_30fps(disabled).mp4′.

Option 2: Create Your Own Dummy File

  1. Right-click in the Movies sub-folder and choose ‘New > Text Document’. This gives you a blank, 0KB file called ‘New Text Document.txt’.
  2. Rename this new file to match one of the video file names you want to skip. Make sure to get the file extension right, like .mp4.
  3. Get rid of or rename the original video file to avoid a skating crash, I mean, a file clash.

And You’re Off!

Now you’re all set. Fire up the game and enjoy getting right into the action, without any hold-up!
