This is a guide for getting all 11 achievements in Fort Boyard. Despite the extremely unfriendly control of the game which significantly increases the difficulty to complete the challenges in a single adventure, this guide will encourage you to master each challenge, and love this game more — after reading.
 
 

1. Introduction

We have seen many comments complaining the annoying mumbles of the old man, repeated words of your teammates, terrible controls, etc. I agree that I nearly uninstall this game at the first 2 hours due to the same awful experience as you guys. However, with this guide, you can be more patient and get 100% achievements like me.
 
 
You can just simply left-click your mouse to skip:
 
1. The mumbles of the old guy (you don’t need to read or understand what he said),
 
2. The repeated and meaning less intros & outros of each challenge.
 
 
There’s one essential mode that saves the reputation of Fort Boyard:
 
Training!
 
With the training mode, most of the achievements can be done in the training unless the description of an achievements asks you to finish it in an “adventure”.
 
 
The conditions to get each achievement:
 
 

 
 
 

2. The Guides to Complete Each Challenge by Difficulty Levels

 
 
There are 12 challenges in total. I will use letters E, D, C, B, A (from easy to hard) to judge the difficulty levels.
 
 
1) Boyardodrome (C)
 
The location of arrow keys: ← & → are too close to the mouse, making my posture look weird. But once you adapt to it, it becomes easy. Just crazily take turns hitting the arrow keys and hold you left mouse button to put the ball inside the hole. Don’t forget to move your mouse to control the direction.
 
 
2) Megagaf (A)
 
The height of flying can be slightly adjusted by tapping the space bar. You can choose “Hard” difficulty to practice. It may takes plenty of trials to handle it.
 
 

 
 
3) Barrack (B)
 
Similar to Boyardodrome, you need to keep running on the treadmill away from falling down. But running to fast will lead to failure to capture the buckets. DO NOT double-click your mouse when you take the bucket. Try to ensure the cursor locate in the middle to keep most of the water — spilling too much water will only contribute a tiny progress that wastes a lot of time, resulting in a fatal failure.
 
 

 
 
4) Reaper (A)
 
Needs numerous practices in the training. Within 2 mins the opponent will fall down if you stay in the right pace.
 
 

 
 
5) Mummy (D)
 
The link below is the 1st guide of this game written by Denial 94. It can help you a lot even though not all questions are covered.

I think all difficulties only give you 10 seconds to choose the answer.
 
 

 
 
6) Council (E)
 
Regardless of the difficulty level, no need to teach you the approach:)
 
 
7) Car Wars (C)
 
The opponent guy looks quite like a jerk… He seems like only interrupt you not to hit the target, so try to avoid any face-to-face crash. Make sure the red fist hit the target, whatever your car’s direction and the strength of hit are.
 
 

 

 
8) Excalibur (B)
 
At the heroic level, if you cannot make all hits be on the same spot with the biggest strength, you will lose. But it’s quite easier as level goes down.
 
 

 
 
9) Safari (D)
 
Try not to hit tigers. The amount of tigers at each level are: 1 (easy), 2 (medium), 3 (hard & heroic). No worries, the tigers will only attack you 2-3 seconds and walk away. You have enough time to get the water and come back on time before their next attack. Tap the space bar in a fast speed to shoot the water.
 
 

 
 
10) Dino Rodeo (C)
 
The hard and heroic level does not have arrows to prompt you. For heroic level, you need to quickly hit the arrow in the opposite direction of lean of the dinosaur twice or above to stay in balance.
 
 
11) Judgement (C)
 
Seems only appear when you failed to get 4 keys in the first round. Do more practices in the training is better.
 
 
12) Treasure Room (B)
 
a. If you cannot find the correct answer of the riddle, you will get 0 boyard (coin unit)!
 
b. You can spend 10 seconds to get one more clue. It’s worthy because you can only complete carrying coins twice at most (appr. 40 sec per trial) within 100 seconds.
 
c. The final amount of coins you collected is related to the difficulty level. In heroic level you can get much more boyards than easy level.
 
d. DO NOT hit your teammates, you will lose coins. So try to slow down when you turn around.
 
e. The area with more coins contributes more progress to fill up the bar.
 
 

 
 
 

3. Ways to Get Each Achievement

Attention: a “T” in the parentheses means that this achievement is available to get in the “Training” Mode
 
 
1) Adventurer
 
Complete adventure mode and collect at least 5,000 Boyards.
 
 

 
Automatically gain when you complete your first adventure (choose the correct answer of the riddle and collect coins at least once w/o hitting others too many times).
 
 
2) Grand Adventurer
 
Complete adventure mode without failing a single challenge.
 
 

 
Choose “Easy” difficulty level, it will be much easier after practicing a lot in Hard/Heroic in the training mode. Restart a new adventure if you are failed in any challenge.
 
 
3) Hero of the Fort
 
Complete heroic adventure mode and collect at least 5,000 Boyards.
 
 

 
You can fail in all challenges before the Treasure Room, but you need to successfully bring boyards to the golden basin at least once without hitting others (if you bring twice, it’s okay to hit others). The reward of heroic adventure is ample.
 
 
4) Champion (T)
 
Complete all the challenges.
 
Can be gained together with the 5th achievement. Go to “Options” and choose “Hard” level, and complete all the challenges in the Training mode. Do not start a new adventure since you will miss some challenges if you succeed getting 4 keys.
 
 
5) Grand Champion (T)
 
Complete all the challenges on hard mode.

6) Epic Victory! (T)
 
Collect more than 15,000 Boyards in the treasure room.
 
 

 
Choose “Heroic” difficulty, and go to the training mode. If you get the correct answer of the riddle with the 1st clue, you can gather the coins twice. Without hitting your teammates, you can easily get over 15,000 boyards. Here is a screenshot of my own record: 19,141:
 
 

 
 
7) Hey! Taxi! (T)
 
Drive 5km by car.
 
Choose “Car War” in the training mode, practice multiple times till the achievement pop out.
 
 
Hidden Achievements:
 
 
8) On the Wire (T)
 
Complete a challenge with just one second left.
 
 

 
I got this achievement in “Megagaf”.
 
Challenges which CANNOT get this achievement: Reaper, Mummy, Council, Judgement, & Treasure Room.
 
 
9) Treadmill Champ (T)
 
Run 2km on a treadmill.
 
Choose either “Boyardodrome” or “Barrack”.
 
 
10) Rope Cutter (T)
 
Cut 5 ropes with a sword.
 
Win 5 times in “Excalibur”.
 
 
11) Riddle Master (T).
 
Solve 20 riddles.
 
Choose “Mummy” in the training mode and practice multiple times.
 
 
 

4. Trivia

1) This is the first guide I have posted on Steam.
 
2) Originally I wanted to give a “dislike” to this game and ask for a refund.
 
3) But like me, you can get all achievements w/n 10 hours.
 
4) After watching the namesake TV show, I gradually changed my attitude to this game, even though it’s indeed a semi-finished work and it’s really not worthy of $24.99.
