Free AOM EX/OST? Holy acronyms

That’s right, Microsoft/Forgotten Empires/Skybox/Someone has provided us the AOM EX OST featuring Dante from the Devil May Cry series! Enjoy it for nothing!

Really? How?

Forgotten Empires and Microsoft, Skybox, Skybox, or someone else made the fantastic decision to use MP3 files as music instead of using an original file format like many developers.

Simply right-click your Steam game > Browse local Files > “Sound” > Music folder > and you’re done!

There are five folders within. These are:

“culture” – Starting tunes for each civilization.

“Fight” – Tunes that play when attacking Town Centers.

“interface”: AOM 02′ and EX titles themes and miscellaneous song.

“quiet”, a mellow mix of each track.

“Standard” is the music you will hear when you play Age of Mythology.

This file system and naming conventions is identical to the original release.

It is interesting to note that The Titans menu theme does not appear present. There are the intros referred to above, as also the EX intro was renamed in the Sound folder to both versions. No trace of the original A Matt Named Kittens is found. Oh no! Imagine if only sites like khinsider could exist!

I love tracks such as Flavor Cats & Suture Self. It’s nice that the devs have unofficially provided the OST! I hope you enjoy!
