Import your own face to Prison

Gentle introduction to import your face to game

 
Hello, Guards and Guardesses!
 
 
Have you ever wanted to put your friend into prison? Or maybe you’d like to spend a few days there yourself? We have something really special for you today! In our game – Prison Simulator – you can put your face into the game and give it to one (or more!) of the prisoners. You just need to have a photo of the front of your face and stay in online mode on Steam.
 
 
Now, there are two ways to put it into the game.
 
 

First option – In-game generator

 
The first one is automated – just click New Game and find plus icon under Choose skin
 
 

 
 
then use our in-game generator
 
 

 
 
Now, you can upload your face or whatever you want. Only constrain is that a chosen file must be an image (*.png or *.jpg extension).
 
 

 
 
You have a lot of options to create your imaginary face in prison. Change skin color, contrast, saturation etc.
 
To adjust uploaded file use masks, scales and offsets sliders.
 
 

 
 
You can also change an existing face. Just hit the modifyface option.
 
 

 
 
Here you can adjust eyes, jaw, nose, mouth and other stuff!
 
 

 
 
Use a slider to get various funny effects.
 
 

 
 
If you rave about the result, click Create button and confirm your new face. Then a face will apear on top of scroll view.
 
 

 
 

Second option – Upload your own skin

 
 
The second one is more tricky, but the effect is gonna look better. Take a look at Madzia’s – one of our developers – tutorial video – 3:13
 
 

 
 
Or follow these steps:
 
 
Click “Plus button”, then “Upload skin” button
 
 

 
 
Using in-game file browser load your skin
 
 

 
 
Confrim your prisoner
 
 

 
 
and you will notice new skin
 
 

 
 

Where I can find a local files?

 
 
Go to Steam Library and click right mouse button on Prison Simulator then click on Property…
 
 

 
 
then click on Browse…
 
 

 
 
in file browser go to ..\Prison Simulator_Data\StreamingAssets\Create your own face in Prison Simulator
 
 

 
 
 

Steam workshop implementation

Introduction
 
This handy guide will teach you the ways of Workshop and sharing from within Prison Simulator. Please note that the Prison Simulator Workshop only supports characters at the moment.
 
 

Content Manager and Workshop

 
To upload something to the Workshop, you’ll have to use the Workshop Submission within Prison Simulator. This is the main way the game interacts with the Workshop, and will see expanded functionality as the game develops.
 
 
If you wish share your prisoners click Steam Workshop.
 
 

 
 
This will open a new window presenting a little more info. You can share your prisoner or team (16 prisoners) or load content from other players.
 
 

Uploading

 
To upload prisoner to Steam Workshop click “Share button”
 
 

 
 
After that you have to choose what kind of content you want to upload – a prisoner or full team
 
 

Uploading single prisoner

 
 

 
 
This will open a new window presenting a little more info, and allow you to enter some information and sharing service.
 
 

 
 
Game will tell you once your item has been uploaded. From there, the Steam Workshop will open via the Steam overlay. Here you can edit the description of your item, set visibility, etc.
 
 

Uploading team (16 prisoners)

 
 

 
 
If you created 16 prisoners, enter title, description and upload preview image if you want. If you are happy with what you create you can share your prisoners by click share button.
 
 

 
 
Game will tell you once your item has been uploaded. From there, the Steam Workshop will open via the Steam overlay. Here you can edit the description of your item, set visibility, etc.
 
 

 
 
It’s as simple as that! Your item is now on the Steam Workshop for all to see.
 
 

Downloading

 
If you want to check out other players stuff just click to Steam Workshop
 
 

 
 
In top-right corner you will notice two categories – prisoners and teams
 
 

 
 
To subscribe prisoner select first category. There you will find already subscribed prisoners and proposed.
 
 

 
 
To download content click on cloud icon. After few second subscribed prisoner should be downloaded and will put at the end of scroll list

You can subscribe items in game.
 
 
Click on miniature of prisoner or team
 
 

 
 
This will open a steam overlay window. Click on “workshop” to go to main workshop website
 
 

 
 
Then select “Browse->Items”
 
 

 
 
At the end just choose item which you want to have in game and subscribe it!
 
 

 
 
 

Expanding Functionality

Prison Simulator Workshop is an Early Access feature, and currently in alpha. The current Workshop and sharing implementation is a baseline for improvement in the future. We’re a small team and have many things to work on.
