Before the Hunt

 
These loadouts are just what I use, I don’t say these are the best. 
You can use whatever you like, especially early game you’ll probably have to. 
 
Before any hunt you should eat at a canteen, that’s why there’s mostly no health/stamina increasing items in these builds. 
 

NOT INTENDED FORFREE MEAL

 

 
Free Meal is great for saving resources and having to go to camp less. Though there is one problem: You can’t craft when your Item bag is full and these loadouts start FULL. The idea is that you drink a Demondrug at the start of the quest and then have that slot free, but with Free Meal that’s not guaranteed. Sure you can toss an item to have space to craft but thats messy. If you intend on using Free Meal I suggest leaving 1 slot free so you can craft.

Radial Menus are crucial to using Items efficiently in fights, and fast crafting. 
You should absolutely set up these menus to use/craft the items you need. 
 
 

The Loadouts

 

Normal Trap

This is my most used loadout, by far. Perfect for hunting any monster that can be trapped. It has everything you need: 
 

• Healing Items: Mega Potions, Max Potions + Ingredients 
• Farcaster 
• Shock Traps + Ingredients, Tranq Bomb + Ingredients 
• Damage: Demondrug, Demon Powder, Might Seed 
• Stats: Armorcharm, Armortalon, Powercharm, Powertalon 
• Flash Pods + Ingredients, Dung Pods 
• Astera Jerky, Nullberry 
• Poison Smoke Bomb + Ingredients

 
Most of this stuff is self explanatory. 
I like having Astera Jerky around because it can do more than just cure bleeding, it can help you recover from damage over time you’ve been eating all day. If you need Antidote you could swap that in. 
Poison Smoke Bombs can be used when the monster is sleeping to trigger poison. 
If you have something more important to take than those, go ahead. 
 

Normal Bomb

Same as the first one but now with Bombs instead of Traps, I also added in Rations for some reason. 
 

Respawn Trap

When you get carted you don’t have maxed Health and Stamina anymore, so let’s fix that with an Ancient Potion. You have to craft Flash Pods once. 
 

Respawn Bomb

I just replaced the Ration with an Ancient Potion 
 

Multiplayer Trap

This Loadout simply includes Dust of Life so you can heal your teammates. You have to craft Flash Pods once. 
 

Multiplayer Bomb

Multiplayer Wide Range

Even more Ingredients to craft Mega Potions, for when you want to constantly heal your team with Wide Range. 
 

Bow Example

For Bow taking Dash Juice with you is a good idea, also ingredients to craft more Coatings. 89 vials so you can take 10 vials from the chest. The ingredients for Paralyze are missing. In a real loadout you’ll only use 2-3 Coatings anyway so don’t bring the extra crafting stuff.

Expedition/Gathering

A bare bones build with only the essentials and lots of space to gather stuff. Baitbugs for fishing ^^ 
 
 

Items you might miss

 

Might Pill

 
 
Might Pill is not included because it only lasts 20 seconds, that’s something for speedrunners. 
 

Mega Armorskin, Hardshell Powder, Adamant Seed

 
 
Increasing defense has a negligible effect. 55 defense doesn’t make a difference when your normal defense level is 1000. 
 

Pitfall Trap

 
 
Which trap to choose can be personal preference I suppose. I just like shock trap because it deploys faster. Although there is 1 monster you need Pitfall Traps for… 
 

Antidote, Energy Drink, Screamer Pod

 
 
Feel free to use them for applicable monsters, though i prefer slotting some Antidote or Pep decos in. And Screamer Pods is a must-have for Diablos farming. 
 

Cool Drink, Hot Drink

 
 
On the maps where you need them the plants are already there, set them to auto craft and gather at the beginning of the hunt.
