Tolkien’s Vision is a ReShade mod for ME: Shadow Of War, reconfiguring the visuals to cinematic sugar-free eye candy! Essential for bringing a new spark of life to the game if you’re to play it today. The colours and general profile was inspired by the films. This is very much a ‘one size fits all’ mod, as it is unable to change colour profiles as you visit different locations so I might release separate profiles later if people request any which players can change to with keybinds. 
 
 

INSTALLATION

 

• Download and open www.nexusmods.com – https://www.nexusmods.com/middleearthshadowofwar/mods/8?tab=files 
• Copy and paste or extract the contents of the folder to the “x64” folder in the game directory. 
• Enjoy and have fun!

What is ReShade?

 
ReShade is a small program for gamers to edit the visuals of games to their liking, I’m sharing my settings with you to easily download and play the game like new. 

Do I need to change video settings to better use the mod?

 
You may find the in-game brightness slider needs changing (usually brighter) ignoring the reference image. Furthermore, if your hardware can take it then install the High Resolution Texture Pack DLC and change the Texture Quality to Ultra to enable it. 

Will it cause lag or slow down my game?

 
As lightweight as I’ve attempted to make the mod, it may impact your fps. This is mostly dependant on your hardware. I’ve spent many hours on this trying to find the best between quality and performance so there’s not much more to do if you’re lagging other than lower your graphical settings in-game. 
 

Will you ever update Tolkien’s Vision?

 
Probably, but likely not overwriting the main version. I will likely create variations to let people customise their choice a bit more. 
 

What if I don’t like it and want to uninstall it?

 
Don’t worry, it’s very easy to uninstall and remove from your PC. 
 
Locate the game directory, then open the “x64” folder. 
Delete the “reshade-shaders” folder as well as “Tolkien.ini, “dxgi.dll”, “dxgi.log”, “Reshade.ini” and “ReshadeGUI.ini”
