This guide will teach you how to install mods for linux (NCMS ONLY)

Step 1

Switch to proton in Steam and wait for steam's update to worldbox to Windows. If you don't know what to do, go to Proprieties-> compatibility and force the use a specific steam compatibility tool

(After i did this, I booted the game but it is not necessary)

Step 2

Install ProtonTricks (This is required in order to get mods working DO NOT SKIP.)

If you don't know the correct way to install proton tricks, most distros support flatpaks can be downloaded here

https://flathub.org/apps/details/com.github.Matoking.protontricks – [flathub.org]

(Github link

https://github.com/Matoking/protontricks – [github.com]

Step 3

Do this by opening proton tricks

Worldbox -> Select default windprefix -> Run winecfg

Once Winecfg is opened, go to libraries->New override for library and search for Dinput8'. Click on Dinput8 to click add, then click Apply to exit the panel

NCMS will not function if you fail to complete this step.

Step 4

Steam lets you browse your local files, and you can download NCMS as you normally would (the NCSM link
https://denq04.github.io/ncms/how-to-install/ – [github.io]

)

Step 5

You should be able to run the game if everything went right.

(Please could one of the mods pin this please, so people know.)

Enjoy linux users

Ending thoughts

I created this guide because I love modding and have a passion to play Linux games.

I couldn't find a good guide, so I created one on my website on July 23, 20,22.

The link is currently blocked. However, if you want to check it out, here's the link

Triro.ga, hopefully steam doesn't block it.

Anyways happy modding linux players!
