Hunting
Hunting basics- Animals
Okay, so there are a lot of animals that you can hunt. Here’s a bit of info about each:
Beavers
These animals are found near rivers, look for dams. They appear very commonly in Slough Creek when it’s Spring/Summer.
Scent Light orange-yellow
Most Commonly Found in:
Slough Creek summer/spring
Hunting Tactics:
Stay in long grass near a river, charge when close but not provoking it. If it goes in the water, follow it and stay at its side or on top of it if it goes underwater, eventually forcing it out of the water.
Mule Deer
These are the fastest of all ungulates in the game (so far).
Scent Light purple
Most Commonly Found in:
Clearings in Amethyst Mountain, very common in Lamar Canyon and the plains above it.
Hunting Tactics
Stalk until provoked, then chase them down. Ignore the mother if you are hunting a fawn, they aren’t as strong as elk or moose.
Moose
These are one of the most dangerous animals in the game.
Scent Very light purple-pink
Most Commonly Found in:
Slough Creek, winter.
Hunting Tactics:
Bite until it runs, then chase it, and try your best to avoid its blows.
Elk
These are the most common food in the game.

Quests
Learn to Hunt Quest
So, I’m guessing you’re new to the game if you need help with this. V for scent view, and you should have all the info you need about elk on the hunting page. So, basically, you gotta kill two elk. Press J to open the quests and see how you’re doing. Press M for map.
Find a Mate Quest
You wanna find the perfect mate? Sure! Look for dispersal wolf scent around the map. I tend to get a mate in the Lamar Canyon, if that helps. But be careful! Some might not be perfect, because there are diversity points. You are more likely to have a litter of 5-7 pups with a 3-4 star diversity wolf. However, having a 1-2 star diversity wolf will likely end up with 1-5 pups, with a higher chance of pups getting sick.
Journey to Slough Creek
Go towards the star on the compass. Duh.
Establish Territory + Find a Den Quests
So, yeah. First, you need to establish territory. Mark each hex to about 70-100%, as it is helpful in the future. Also, claim at least 20+ hexes. Next, Find a den! I’d recommend open dens near/in the middle of your territory.
Raise Pups
Here’s a guide I made on some tips + tricks first!

Anyway, I’d recommend becoming a nomadic pack, since predator attacks are rare then. So, just raise your pups until they weigh 15 pounds.
Journey to Rendezvous Site
Rendezvous sites will appear around the map. Go to one and choose one.
Loaf at Rendezvous Site
Raise your pups at the rendezvous site until they weigh 20 pounds.
Endless Summer
Endless Summer never ends. You’ve completed the current game!
What now?
The devs are currently working on future game updates, so comment down below some tips and tricks!
For example:
loufloo pointed out that if you run away from attacking grizzlies they will give up and/or despawn. (this is true, btw!)
