A huge guide to Wolfquest to help newer players or just give tips to players. Also Sorry For not adding Images in the guide since it just opens up a link that does not even work. -_- Though still hope you enjoy the guide and yes I know someone else created something like this but they abandoned ( I Think ) but also its a bit outdated so that’s why I made this.( A work in progress right know though I am trying to included every thing about the game )

Learning How To Hunt Quest + Tips On How To Hunt
| Learning How To Hunt | ( Note: If You Want More Info On Wolfquest I Suggest Checking Out A Youtube Video )
| Tracking Down Elk Herds |
As soon as you start up the game you will be given a quest to learn how to hunt which requires you to hunt 2 elk. ( You Can Access All Of Your Quest By Hitting ” J ” ) Learning how to hunt is quite easy on easy mode since you can kill 2 elk with ease though if you are in challenging it will be much harder. ( I Suggest Putting It In Easy Mode ) Once you can control your wolf you want to hit
” V ” to go into scent view which is where you can smell animals that are nearby.
Elk Herds That Spawn Near Spawn Rock: Nine Bark / Thimble Berry / Pine Grass / Blue Grass / Snow Brush / Big Sagebrush / Raspberry / Dogwood / Fescue
Bull Elk That Spawn Near Spawn Rock: None ( I Think )
The elk herds listed up top are the elk herds that spawn nearby, their scent color is light pink and so are their tracks. ( The More Brighter The Scent The Closer The Elk Herd Is ) Once you are in scent view look around for any elk herd scents then once you find one you are going to want to follow the scent until it leads to either their tracks or directly to them.
| Facing Down Elk Herds |
Once You encounter the elk herd they normally wont flee since you are a lone wolf. The best way to make them flee is to bite a Cow Elk/Spike Elk/Bull Elk though its quite risky since other elk can attack you when biting a elk but you need to take that small risk since growling usually wont work. Though After 1-5 bites they should start fleeing which is then when the hunt begins.
| Hunting Elk |
Elk are quite easy to hunt if you pick the right ones and your probably might be questioning on what I mean by that, well if you did’t know, elk can be lower health then full health ( The Lowest Health Being Halve Right Now ) which is the ones you want to target. The Elk Calf’s are the weakest though they are protected by their mother so your hunt will be a lot longer then just fighting a cow elk so i suggest finding 2 halve health cow elk or a cow elk mother that has halve health since you can take down the mother then the calf. In the recent update how much stamina a elk has will contribute to how hard they hit you which means if you chase down a elk herd for awhile you make them weaker so they can inflict less damage to you. ( That Also Effects You Too ) Then You Should be able to take down a elk or two though if you are not confident in yourself to hunt another one just eat it and go to sleep to heal yourself. Though once you take down 2 elk a new quest will be given to you.
| !!! Genetics !!! | + A Bit Of Info On Symbols For A Dispersal / Pack Wolf / Potential Mate / Mate
| !!! Genetics !!! | ( !!! Note: This Is Very Important Determining The Rest Of Your Play Through !!! )
Genetics are very important to know when it comes to looking for potential mates since it contributes to how many pups you can have. ( Pups Will Be Talked About Soon And Mates Below ) When looking at dispersal’s / pack wolves you will probably notice a small-ish sized box near the top right/left that will show a hear meter, filled in stars or unfilled stars, the pack they come from, their age, and their coat icon. The heart meter shows how much affinity you have with the wolf once its full they will ask to become your trial mate though you have to prove yourself to them. ( More About That Later )
Stars are very important since they determine your diversity with the wolf, the good diversity wolves range from about 4-3 though the bad ones 1-2. You might be wondering why I would would say that but the reason why I would is because 2 star can only have 5 pups at most ( Also Its Quite Rare ) and don’t even get me started about 1 star diversity’s. The pack they come from, their age, and their coat icon are not important really its just additional information about the wolf.
Finding A Mate Quest + Finding Potential Mates + Courtship + Genetics
| Finding Potential Mates + Info about them and ways to find them | ( Note: Only Modern Skin Coats Can Spawn On Dispersal’s ) ( Note 2: Make Sure To Read Genetics ( Which Is At The End Of This part ) Since Its Quite Important For You Play Through Through )
Once you have finished the learn how to hunt quest you will be given a new quest which is called find a mate. This quest ( Obviously ) wants you to find a mate which once you do you have established a small family/pack though before I get to ahead of myself you of course must find a mate. ( Note There Is 3-4 Female Dispersal Pack’s and 4-5 Male Dispersal Pack’s )
Dispersal Packs In Amethyst: 8 Miles / Beartooths / Canyons / Cinnabars / Haydens / Hoodoos / Pahaskas / Prospect Peaks / Quadrants / Rosebuds ( Note: Male or Female Does Not Matter They All Spawn In These 10 Packs )
I suggest howling and going to sleep since 1-3 dispersal packs ( Sometimes Pack Wolves Though You Have To Be In Their Territory ) will show up though there are a few other ways like howling and sleeping for example. In the recent update when you howl dispersal’s or pack wolves that are at least 2 kilometer’s away or closer will howl back at you so you can track were they are. Like I mentioned a few times before some pack wolves would be willing to leave their pack to become your mate though be careful since there is a high chance that a hostile wolf will be with them. Though the best method in my opinion is to howl 1-3 times then sleep since its quite easy. Though of course tracking down their scent is also a thing you can do though its quite hard since you have to be near ( A lot Closer Than A 2 Kilometer Distance ) them so i suggest doing the other methods I mentioned though its up to you.
