A lot of people are quickly looking for a way to avoid servers running bots, though they serve as fillers until real players hop in

This guide is about bots, from how to avoid them to hosting a server (local or online) with them on, and even how you can help the community by learning and improving them through waypointing!

Very WIP guide!

A small notice to say this guide is a WIP!

It’ll be improved step by step!

What is a bot?

First things first!

A bot is a computer-controlled player, ran by the server

It will follow some instructions, by the bot mod and the waypointer who wrote precise, per-map instructions

You can easily check if a player is a bot with its ping: 0!

Else its behavior…

Finding bot-less servers

(I have to check again but i believe ET: Legacy has a filter for this)

As said in the introduction, have in mind some servers only have bots during low-activity hours, so don’t discriminate them too fast!

The only vanilla way is to use online trackers such as SplatterLadder or TrackBase to filter-out bot servers

Hosting a game with bots

You want to have some offline action, or play a LAN with friends but you’re not enough? :/

Then just add bots to your game!
