How to run Trollhammer Torpedo on OE in Cata.

THP on Cleave allows OE to really farm THP fast with weapons like Dual Hammers or the Coghammer. However, THP on Stagger can work if you choose to run Axe & Shield or Hammer & Shield.
 
 
Combined Arms is a great boost to both your melee and ranged capability. The common trap is taking Leading Shots + Scrounger on the Trollhammer Torpedo (THT). If built properly, the THT can 1-shot Chaos Warriors without needing a crit. Note that crits do not affect the AoE damage of the THT, only the actual projectile. The power boost from Combined Arms affects both the AoE and projectile damage of the THT. It also lasts long enough for you to get 3 boosted shoots consistently.
 
 
Enhanced Power is needed to reach certain breakpoints with the THT and just boost your ranged damage overall.
 
 
Superior Gaskets is my pick here, it gives you up to 10% extra attack speed on your melee which pairs really well with Combined Arms. It also gives you the convenience of not having to maintain your pressure stacks. Lastly, there are numerous situations in cata that you don’t have the time or space to make use of the extra uptime Experimental Steam Capacitors give. If you are going to run a Shield weapon, go ahead and take Experimental Steam Capacitor.
 
 
Ablative Armor can be the difference of getting downed or not by a hit and is what I run. However, Piston Power can be a good choice if you choose to run a shield.
 
 
Innovative Ammo Hoppers gives you the most uptime and with the amount of specials in cata it really allows you to extend your burst. It also gives you more uptime with the attack speed buff from Superior Gaskets after you use up your meter.

A more offensive build for dual hammers, this really allows you to farm tons of THP during a horde or kill elites faster. You may choose to run shield weapons, however I find it a waste of the potential melee output you can dish out.
 
 
Trollhammer Torpedo:
 
 

 
 
The headshot hitbox for the THT is quite forgiving with such a large projectile. Just aim above the head of the enemy and you can consistently get headshots.
 
 
Necklace:
 
 

 
 
Extra health will allow you to survive more situations. Extra Stamina is mainly for the push attack + overhead string for the dual hammers. You can also use this string to increase your movespeed. 30% BCR is also valid instead of +2.0 stamina. Barkskin is for surviving two hits in a row potentially, damage reduction while incapacitated and really reduces the damage from things like Globadiers, Ratling Guns, Warpfire Throwers and Blightstormers. With how fast you can farm THP, I don’t see the need for Boon of Shallya, especially if you have a SotT as a teammate.
 
 
Charm:
 
 

 
 
Not much to explain here, strength pots are your friend with THT. With a GK ally, it trivializes patrols and bosses. Power vs Armored to 1-shot CWs and just provide more AoE damage vs Bestigors/SV.
 
 
Trinket:
 
 

 
 
A bit controversial here. I prefer running Shrapnel since I have a decent headshot rate with THT. Its a nice boost to your boss damage/AoE damage. OE also gets extra ammo compared to IB and I find with proper usage of both crankgun and THT, I’ll be able to refill ammo before I run out. However, you can certainly run Grenadier. You may also opt to take revive speed over cooldown reduction.
