Voidigo Best Strategy (as of March 27) 1 - steamsplay.com
this is the strategy that carried me to a win on intense difficulty, so it should work on all difficulties below fairly well and maybe on those above (big maybe)

Unique Mechanics First:

Firstly, there are a few mechanics in this game that not only separate it from other similar games (like Gungeon or Nuclear Throne) but make your character extremely powerful. Don’t worry though, you pretty much get killed in two hits on harder difficulty so it’s warranted.

S T O M P: Firstly, the character can stomp on enemies (as seen in the tutorial) This is cool and all, but it’s actual extremely, extremely useful to avoid taking damage. In a room with a lot of enemies, chain stomps can be used to disable two or three enemies, allowing you to kill them without worrying about taking damage while doing so. In addition, you have invincibility frames while in the air AND while you are stomping on an enemy, so you can be immune to damage for a good three seconds if you chain stomp a few enemies.

Also, similarly, buttons are very useful as well (except bullet button lmao) for stunning/ killing enemies in a tight spot. Sometimes, I hang around a button in a room or I bait a boss over to one during a boss fight, as they offer massive damage potential.

MELEE: Another unique thing about this game in particular is melee combat. Not only is melee combat much stronger in this game compared to other roguelites, but your melee weapons have much higher durability than your ranged weapons have ammo. So, they can offer much more damage and require less ammo jars to maintain.

Melee weapons are also strong for two other reasons: your character is immune to almost all contact damage (even on bosses) and they have a shield ability. Therefore, I often use melee weapons against bosses whenever I can, and take full advantage of the shield. Melee weapons are great for both rooms and bosses, so there is no reason not to have one. Especially effective on a cluster of enemies when combined with the stomp ability.

LOOT: The loot in this game is pretty simple. Just spam the right click on anything that glimmers or shines, and it will give you diamonds (or whatever the currency is called idk) and you can use this to buy health or ammo pots. The only reason I mention this here is because some people forget to break the shiny pots, and therefore cannot afford a heart when they need one.

Strategy (Floors One and Two)

Floors one and two are very similar, therefore I am putting them into the same boat here.

The main character In Voidigo is squishy. Really Squishy. So, the main priority should be on not taking damage, and really nothing else. In rooms, you can control the pace you want to go at. If you are new at the game, your best bet might be to single out one or two targets, stomp on them, and kill them as quickly as possible. This game rewards you for being patient, as you are much less likely to take damage if you take your time and don’t rush into danger. However, if you are more advanced, you can try dodging around a group of 5 or 6 enemies, and killing them as fast as possible. As you get more familiar with the dodging/ stomp mechanics and attack patterns, you can play more aggressively.

NOTE: similarly to Nuclear Throne, health pots and ammo pots have an increased drop rate when you need them, and even more so when you really, really need them. This is good to know because if you are low on hp, back away from combat for a bit to kill a few weaker enemies. If there are none, breaking pots or other loot things at low hp will have a good chance of giving you a health pot.

As far as weapons go, the ideal load out is a melee weapon paired with a strong gun/ ranged weapon. This is because melee weapons can be used to clear rooms without running out as fast as most guns, so you can save the ammo in your gun for when its needed (ie harder enemies or bosses)

Recommended Starter: begunner or bedagger. Beshotter is ok (it does one-shot though) Do not take becleaver though, it’s the worst one

Recommended boosts: any button, any weapon buff, cloud hand(a really fun one btw) stone tablet. (but try them all, most of them are really cool/ fun ideas)

NOTE: in between floors, the only things worth doing are feeding the void (if you need hp or ammo desperately) and trading an ability for health. Never trade health for anything, and consider keeping a good ability if it has been helping your run.

Strategy for bosses one and two

Bosses in this game are the main reason why this game stands out compared to competing titles. However, their health pool and second phase can be really hard, but like all video game bosses, the more you fight them, the easier they become.

Firstly, you and the boss both possess the ability to leave the fight on a whim. On half a heart? did your weapon just run out of ammo? Did your sword break? If the battle isn’t going to plan, just leave the fight! Then, go to previous rooms that offer health, ammo, or have spare weapons. By the time the boss finds you again, you should be in a position to fight it once more.

but, how does the boss work? well, there are 5 crystal-void things found throughout the level. They are the black and red things that you have to stomp on in order to leave the room. Every time you destroy one, the boss will lose a lock on its health pool (idk how else to describe it lol) The important thing is, you need to stomp on all 5 void crystals to completely kill the boss.

In addition, the boss will always spawn when the SECOND crystal is stomped on, so just keep in mind that you should plan around that accordingly.

Now, the best way to kill the bosses? I typically use a melee weapon to kill phase number one of the fight. In phase one, the boss attacks much more slowly, which makes melee combat more viable. You have more time to react to attacks, so being a good distance from the boss is less important.

Phase two is a different story though. As far as I am aware, the boss attacks at 2x speed but has slightly less health than it had in phase one. But worry not! Because we used melee weapons in rooms and in phase one of the fight, the gun you have with you, along with other guns in nearby rooms, will have plenty of ammo. The optimum strategy is to use your strongest weapon until it is out of ammo, then go to the next strongest, ect. Any concerns about saving ammo should not be present in phase two of the boss. Ideally, you should keep strafing and moving when you can, and focus on keeping distance between you and the boss. stomping on bosses does almost nothing, so use the stomp only as a dodge roll and focus on using it to keep your distance and to keep you safe from attacks.

Spoilers, Also known as Third Boss

This boss is tricky, but not impossible. However, I have found a strategy to make the fight much easier than it initially seems.

Firstly, the third floor has no enemies except the third boss, which is basically a boss that spawns copies of previous bosses to fight you. Therefore, you do not need to worry about enemies cluttering the room.

Like stated before, the boss spawns when the second void crystal is stomped. But, DO NOT fight the boss right away. If you choose to fight the boss as soon as it spawns, you will be fighting all four of the cloned bosses at once (not good) Therefore, the ideal strategy is to run from room to room, smashing void crystals and looting items as you go. Not only will this allow you to find better guns and items that might offer a lot of value, but it will also force the last boss to summon the cloned bosses every time a new room is entered, letting you fight one to two of them before leaving, and not all four. This can be great because the main danger of this fight is when attacks start to stack.

I typically never use a melee weapon on the third boss, as it is really hard to attack with them due to all the separate bosses doing their own thing. (Of course, if you have a god tier melee, the of course that’s an exception) So, I usually take two guns from floor two to the third floor with me, so I can focus on maintaining my distance from attacks.

Area of affect items or abilities can be really good on floor three. This includes most buttons, especially the bomb button. Because all the bosses are connected to the same hp pool, you can damage multiple bosses at the same time. So any affect like fire or poison is also great here too.

So, that’s pretty much it for this guide so far. Of course, the game is still being updated, so this is probably gonna be outdated soon. I hope this helped the one person who read it, and I also wanted to thank the devs for such a cool and refreshing new game!
