Advice on unlocking achievements and characters
 
 

Singleplayer achievements

Faithful       Launch the game 9 times

 

Angel of Axe       Score 150 or chop 1117

Little Elf       Score 250 or chop 3917

Black Ninja       score 555 or chop 55555

Just Magic       Score 500 or chop 30000

Lazy Ugly Bird       Score 700 or chop 100000

Mighty Mr Tree       Score 1001 or chop 150000

Chop X segments in one game or chop Y segments total.
 
The alternative to getting good scores is chopping a certain amount of segments. That is extremely tedious. A good player chops about 15000 segments in an hour of gameplay (yes, you can get more with uninterrupted grinding).
 
 

Score Master       Let yourself be killed by branch with score 180 points exactly

When you have 179 points, move into a losing position.
 
 

Routine       Score more than 200 three times in a row

Play 3 singleplayer games in a row, showing consistently good scores.
 
 

Double Tap       Chop 10 logs in 2 seconds

Triple Tap       chop 100 logs in 15 seconds

Chop very quickly…
 
 

Slowbro       Chop 200 logs in over 46 seconds in a single player game

Start a game, chop as slowly as possible, keeping the bar close to the minimum, until you hopefully get the achievement.
 
 
 

Multiplayer achievements

Multitree       Fight 10 times in multiplayer mode

Play 10 multiplayer games.
 
 

Like a Boss       Defeat 5 different people in multiplayer

Win against 5 different players.
 
 

Chainsaw       Win 33 4 players matches

Keep playing Timbermill until you have enough wins.
 
 

Steamer       Unlock at least 4 out of 5 new steam exclusive characters

Steam-exclusive characters: Tim Bear, Timb-nerd, Lucha Timbre, Gaben, Bruce Tree. See their entries below marked with the Steam icon.
 
 

Dark Horse       Beat 10 much stronger opponents in multiplayer

Win against 10 oponents who have a much higher skill value than you. By how much? No clue.
 
This needs to be 10 different opponents.
 
WARNING: If you reach a high skill value before getting this achievement, you’re screwed. Skill value can only go up.
 
 

Kicker       Defeat 25 people by being much faster in 4 players mode

Keep playing Timbermill and deplete your opponents’ energy bar.
 
 

Speedy Treeles       Win three rounds in a row by being much faster than opponent

This achievement is very difficult to obtain, because good players will not let you win by speed consistently and you’re likely to mess up, and players tend to fail before you can leave them behind in points.
 
You can play with a friend. The friend should do nothing and let you do your thing.
 
 

War in Heaven       Fight in multiplayer with devils and angles only

Requires at least 1 Angel and at least 1 Treedevil to be present, and all players need to be using these 2 characters. Awarded after a round ends.
 
Confirmed working in 2 player mode.

Note that some of these unlocks require playing as Timber Claus so just play as that character for all the unlocks until you’ve gotten a 450 highscore.

Play 3 singleplayer games in a row, showing consistently good scores.
 
 

Timber Death       Score over 300 in singleplayer       Score X-Y

This unlock consists of 2 parts. After scoring over 300 in singleplayer the description will change to what essentially means: score slightly below your highscore (but you will be able to see the exact range).
 
WARNING: pay attention to this if you’re afraid you won’t be able to match your highscore if it’s too big.
 
 

Timber Lord       Score 100 with 16 characters

Keep trying new characters and getting decent scores. This does not mean exactly 100.
 
 

Cleaner       Score less than 44 with 20 characters

Cycle through characters and lose as soon as possible.
 
 

Sasquatch       Play a game 50 times as Trapper & Sitting Wolf

 

Eskimo       Launch the game 25 times

Timberbot       Launch the game 50 times

The description updates to tell you how many more times you need to exit and start the game.
 
 

Timber Hook       Play on Friday between 13:00 and 14:00

 

Timb-nerd       Play the game for ??? hours

Not sure what affects this number, but hopefully after the specified amount of gameplay time this character will unlock.
 
 
 

Multiplayer character unlocks

Tim Bear       Play multiplayer once
Timber Santa       Play multiplayer once
Uncle       Play multiplayer once

 

Freedom Tim       Score 333 in online multiplayer

This is quite difficult to do because both you and your opponent need to not fail and go at consistent speeds until you get 333 points.
 
Confirmed working in 4 player mode.
 
 

Lucha Timbre       Defeat 5 opponents in a row

 

Bruce Tree       Win 5 rounds in a row

 

Mr Kevin       Play 10 times 7 or more rounds in online multiplayer

I’m guessing this means play 7 rounds without leaving the game, times 10
 
 

Climber       Climb 100 positions in multiplayer rank in 24 hours

WARNING: This gets harder to do the higher your rank is
 
 

Zomtree       Score over 100 in three rounds in timbermill

 

Treedevil       Rise energy bar from min to max in online multi

This is character is unlikely to be obtained, because good players will not let you regain so much advantage and bad players will fail before you can catch up. Also because of lag it’s really difficult to get to exactly the minimum.
 
You can play with a friend. The friend should chop slowly until their bar fills up 100%, then stop and let you fill it up.
 
Confirmed working in 2 player mode.
 
 

Fred Treegger       Lose 2 first rounds then win the match

Seems like this unlock was made with 2 player mode in mind (“lose twice then don’t lose at all”) but also seems to work in 4 player mode where it’s even easier.
