When engaging enemies, you have a chance to stomp just before they engage combat with you. This will stun one or more enemies upon the battle starting, allowing you to deal some damage while they are stunned on the stage. (This stun lasts for about 5 seconds, and only 1 enemy will stay on the stage after the others jump to the background.)

After you start the game, you will want to jump into the River and go to the left of your screen.
After the transition, you can then head north to find a fissure in the mountain.
Use Stomp (You may use the pause menu to find the button) a few times and you will crack through it.
Once inside, talk to the cow about the darkness. You may can now turn off the Lantern on the right of the cave wall.
Go through the cave and you will end up outside. It is a simple walk up the mountain from there.
Near the top you will find your first collectable, Larry the Lizard!
You will now rest with Madison, when you regain control you can go back to the camp and take the bread that has been warming.
Now that you are in the cave, you will need to collect Salt from the crystals to obtain a collectable in the next chapter. Not all of it is necessary, but collect it when you see it.
You will also need to defeat most of the enemies you find for another collectible in the next chapter, I am unsure precisely how many but I’d recommend vanquishing at least 90% of the enemies you find.
Continue into the cave after the beast now and you will have to defeat them in Battle. If you are struggling it is a good idea to do some of the Tutorial levels with Arizona to understand her moveset.
After defeating the beasts, jump into the water. There is a collectable which is blocked by rocks to your left. Smash them and walk through the corridors and light up all 3 lamps to obtain the Longma Ball.
You can now head back and to the right, where you will be presented with a platforming challenge. This is annoying at first but once you figure out the limits of the limits of your keys/joystick you’ll get the hang of it.
Continuing on, head to entrance at the bottom of the room.
Keep going down until you arrive at the next platforming challenge. You will need to use a super-jump here, this is done by crouching and jumping in quick succession
Once you finish the challenge, you will be able to collect this previously inaccesable chest.
Head up and you will be able to get back to the previous area.
Head up. After destroying the Shadow Orb and the Rocks, fall into one of the two holes on the right. This will put you on the high ground of the lower level.
Continue through the room on the left and across the bridge, then head up. There will be a few more rooms that are straightforward until you reach your next chest here.
Just left of Collectable 5, there will be another chest with Collectable 6.
Continuing on, you will fight a mini-boss, after-which you will be able to obtain your 7th and last collectable of the chapter.
You will now fight the boss of the chapter, Cuddles.
It has 3 main visibly-telegraphed attacks that you will want to avoid.
It will start by lobbing projectiles at you which you must dash from side to side to avoid. These projectiles don’t do too much damage on their own but they add up over time.
The second attack will slash you with its tail, which you must jump to avoid,
these do substantial damage and avoiding these is essential.
Its third attack will lash out at you, this is your chance to strike. Block or avoid its attack, when you hit it, it will be stuck for a few seconds, giving you an opportunity to start dealing damage.
Once you are on the same stage as the boss, it will attack from the corners of the screen, block and attack to whittle down its health bar. After, the fight is simple, just play it as you would a normal fight with one of the wolves
After defeating the boss, you will continue to the second chapter.

To start with, enter this house and talk to the dark-coated deer inside. You can now go outside and go to the back of their house to find a secret entrance. Enter, and you will have to fight a series of enemies in each room to advance.
You will want to start by going to the left until you reach the first collectable in the chest.
You will now want to head to the right from the entrance. Follow the path and fight the several encounters along the way. (I recommend using the stomp trick explained in the Introduction)
Keep fighting these enemies until you get into a large room. This is the Mini-boss of this chapter, ensure you try to enter this room with full health.
You will have to fight 3 encounters of increasingly tough enemies in succession before you fight the miniboss, preserve your health to the best of your ability.
During the miniboss fight, their moveset is similar to the Flopsie enemies, and you shouldn’t have to use any extra strategies to defeat them.
Use the door on the left for a quick exit of the cellar. You can now go to the right until you meet Cashmere. If you did not collect salt in the last chapter you will not be able to afford this collectable. Hand over your salt and they will give you your third collectible.
Head up from Cashmere to find Stronghoof Hoofstrong. If you have not defeated enough enemies, you will not be able to obtain this collectible. Talk to him and he will give you another collectable.
From Hoofstrong, follow the road to the right until you reach this blue-antlered reindeer infront of the Elite Reindeer HQ
Talk to them and survive through their story to get the 5th Collectible
Entering the Museum north of the last collectible, collect the gift box directly in front of the entrance.
Going up, turn right at the big dead fush.
Pick up the book on the floor in the next room.
Return to the front-desk and go to the right
Talk to the librarian and replace the book.
Go through the door and navigate until you reach the Huggles with the Velvet Plushie. Defeat them in battle to collect this collectible.
Head back, go up at the big dead fush, then take a left.
Smash twice near the painting of the pony eating an apple to drop the collectible.
Return to the large enscribed stone and inspect it. You will now fight the boss of this chapter, Velvet.
Her first phase will have no special quirks, and is simple to defeat.
In her second phase, a gust of wind will continuously push you away from velvet.
In her third and final phase, she will have 3 telegraphed attacks.
Her ground attack, which you must jump over to avoid;
A volley of ice-spikes which you must block or duck to avoid;
And an air attack, which you can block to avoid, though this attack won’t affect you if you are too close or far.
All three attacks can be identified by the position of the warning that appears briefly before an attack.
Defeating Velvet will continue you onto the Third Chapter.
Chapter 1:At the Mountain of Sadness

Just as you start, you’ll be greeted by a platforming challenge with enemies to fight along the way. This introduces the Flappy enemies, fast and maneuverable enemies that are hard to hit with most attacks. It is a good idea to use the enemies on the lower levels to practice your Anti-Air moves before you go to the final bird on the top of the stage.
You do have an Anti-Air Lasso, though I would advise not using it, as it proved unreliable against these enemies.
I instead recommend using the basic anti-air attack, then using other attacks after to combo.
Something else important to note is that while fighting the smaller enemies, the direction of your character and thus the direction of your block can be iffy, so try not to rely on it. You can instead duck under most of the lashes.
Once you get past both platforming challenges, you will be rescued by the llamas
Speak to Adobo twice, and ask if he needs any help. He will instruct you to go into the collapsed cellar to defeat the monsters residing there.
You may now go down and enter.
You must defeat all the monsters to get the collectible
Once defeated, go through the bottom entrance to return to the surface. You may now talk to Abodo for the collectible.
Enter through the secret cave entrance, and continue to the fog.
Take a left here, and continue going left, taking the bottom bridge of the two.
you will come across the chest in the fog
Loop back around and take the top bridge.
Go up, then take a right
Continue to the right and you will find the third collectible.
Return left from the third chest, and go up this bridge.
Take a right at the tent, and continue on. You will now enter a maze of bridges. The directions to get through from here are
Once you get through the bridges, you will fight the boss of the chapter, Paprika
Phase one is simple, normal moveset.
Phase two is also the normal moveset with an added shield move, though she will jump out from one side of the screen at the start to stun you, you can jump over her.
During Phase 3, Paprika will jump from the player’s screen to try to land on Arizona multiple times. This can be blocked and retaliated.
Once you have defeated Paprika, you will continue onto Chapter 4.
Chapter 1:Temple of Gloom
Temple of Gloom” title=”Them’s Fightin’ Herds Story Mode Guide (All Collectables) – Chapter 1: Temple of Gloom” alt=”Them’s Fightin’ Herds Story Mode Guide (All Collectables)” title=”Them’s Fightin’ Herds Story Mode Guide (All Collectables)” />
Start by going up, you will come across a broken bridge with predators sleeping on the other side.
You can choose whether you want to fight them now or wait for later, but you will have to engage them regardless.
Go right from the bridge, your first collectible will be immediately in the next room next to the shadow orb.
Go down and across the bridge. Engage the snake and it’s minions in the next room to unlock the door under it. Go through to unlock the second collectible.
Return to the previous area and head to the left entrance, past the 2 wolves. Push the stone block down and continue through the left. Defeat the large wolf on the left and proceed through the path to the Alter of Esurience. This is the Miniboss of the Chapter. There is no special moveset but this fight does not offer time for health, so try to preserve it to the best of your ability. Once you defeat the bear, you can collect the collectible.
Loop around and push the other stone block. Continue into the next room and defeat the wolves to open the left passage.
Push the blocks into place and proceed left. Place the blocks over the pressure plates again to spawn the chest of the 4th Collectible.
Enter the room above, and go through the bridges to get to the top entrance and obtain this next collectible after looping back down.
Taking the left exit from the room now, navigate through the outside portion and continue through the corridor.
You will enter the room on the other side of the previously destroyed bridge. This is your second of third chance to defeat these enemies if you haven’t already, this is the only time they will not be alert to you.
Go through the right and go around this corner.
Going through the door on the right will bring you outside once again, you can now go around through the bottom entrance and pick up this collectible.
Returning back to the previous room, enter through the top entrance to proceed.
Continue through the linear passage until you get to the second large stone block.
Pushing this down will alert the enemies on that level if you have not previously dealt with them yet.
Jump down (and defeat them), then push the blocks into their place on the pressure pads.
This will create the next collectible’s chest.
Continue onwards through the top entrance and get to the top part of the room, near the start of the boss fight.
This one in particular was very annoying to find after running and stomping against everything I could think of
If you want the challenge you can try to find it yourself, but I doubt you would be looking at this guide if you could.
Run against the right wall just below the entrance to the boss room
You can now run back to fight the Boss of the chapter, Oleander.
Olander is the Final Boss of Arizona’s Chapter, and has 3 Phases, similar to Velvet.
Also similar to Velvet, her first 2 Phases are very similar to her basic moveset in versus.
In Phase 1, she will use a basic moveset that she uses in versus. I recommend trying to stun her as often as possible using grabs and lassos to disrupt her magic.
In Phase 2, she will have full magic stock for the entire phase, but if you can knock her out of this phase fast she won’t be able to use it.
If you complete phase 2 you will progress the story, and it is not intended for players to complete phase 3.
However, In Phase 3 there are 2 parts to watch out for. She will start flying around the stage, which is when you will have to use your Anti-Air Lasso to pull her down. After she is pulled down, she will try to charge up an attack that will 1-hit KO you. You will need to use Fred’s punches in order to get closer to her to use the Lasso to pull her down before she fully charges.
If you complete at least Phase 2, you will complete the fight and end the Chapter.
