A collection of mods that make minor tweaks and changes to the game. Given that the Witcher 3 is already incredible, these mods focus on improving the experience further and don’t add any content that changes the game too much.
For nitpickers
These just fix a few little things here and there that bothered me.
Nitpicker’s patch – [nexusmods.com] is a great mod that fixes a bunch of random issues, like Geralt’s swords clipping out of their scabbards and various floating props, as well as the particularly irritating water glitch in the Novigrad canals.
Skellige ice breath – [nexusmods.com] does what is says on the tin – adds an ice breath effect to all characters (even roach) when in Skellige. Just makes things a touch more realistic.
Lore friendly
A few mods that make lore friendly changes that feel like they could have been a part of the game (if that makes sense).
Friendly meditation – [nexusmods.com] is pretty cool. Instead of staring at a boring menu while Geralt meditates, you can actually see the time of day change. Also, the mod is highly customizable so feel free to tweak both meditation and camera settings to your heart’s content. [Note: requires Unification patch (or Community Patch – Base) to work].
Swords on Roach – [nexusmods.com] is one of my favourites. It lets you store Geralt’s swords on roach just like in the books. Again, very customizable, so i recommend playing around with different parameters to get the perfect sword position for you (m
y preferred style is pictured below).
Personal preferences
These mods change a couple things to suit me, but may not be to everyone’s taste.
Tutorial begone – [nexusmods.com] gets rid of the tutorial tab in the menu, simple as. After a few playthroughs it becomes kind of unnecessary.
Better trophies – [nexusmods.com] is a must-have in my opinion. Changes the boring buffs from previous trophies to actually cool ones. E.g. the Katakan trophy gives you life regen and the arachas trophy adds 20 to max toxicity. Each trophy is unique, even for monsters you fight several times.
BLOOD – [nexusmods.com] does exactly what you think it does – improves the blood effect to be more spray-y. Not the most crucial mod but makes the combat look a lot more brutal.
