A guide to help you locate sparks in each level and discover their respective dialogue, be sure not to miss any!
Introduction
Spoiler disclaimer
The amazing story of The Scorchfarer was created for the user’s enjoyment, and as such this guide only offers advice on the discovery of the story elements, rather than what they contain. It is my genuine belief that adding information to each of the elements about their relevant story would take away from the game. That said, the way this guide is formatted reveals some names of the people, places and events that take place. If this is your first playthrough of the game, and you don’t want any spoilers regarding such things, I suggest you leave this guide to your second playthrough, provided you haven’t found all the sparks by then.
Introduction
This guide is aimed to assist achievement hunters, completionists and anyone who wants to appreciate the story of The Scorchfarer in its entirety. To better understand where, how and what we’re actually doing when we’re collecting sparks, let’s go over the relevant information.
Why should I look for sparks?
If you’re not looking for them merely for achievements, they also offer story. Think of these as extra story elements, they’re not necessarily part of the main story, but they explain the world around it more than anything. Ever wondered why Yukiharu keeps a drawing in his bedroom? What could be inside Mikaela’s nightstand drawer? Sparks answer these questions. You won’t be able to interact with everything in the world of course, but most scenes have at least one or two sparks to find.
Where can I find sparks?
If you’re completely new, or you missed the brief introduction within the game, sparks can be found during each of the scenes, whenever you change your location to a new background that is, by clicking the eye icon on the top right of the screen. Whenever there are sparks to be discovered, the eye will be open, and you will briefly close your story dialogue to open the discovery screen.
How do I find the sparks?
When you’ve entered the discovery scene, your cursor will change into a magnifying glass. Whenever you’re in discovery, you’ll be able to search the scene with your cursor, moving it around, to discover small, glimmering animations, sparks. When you click on these sparks, you’ll already have discovered them.
What do the sparks do?
Once you’ve found a spark and clicked on it to unlock it, you will find one of the characters’ face appearing, clicking on the face will reveal dialogue about the object or scenery in question.

Achievements section
Although most achievements should be unlocked for you by now, there may be some that you missed. Let’s review where and how we can find them.
Together – Complete the prologue
This achievement will complete after you have continued through Mikaela’s bedroom.
Curious, Apprentice, Knowledgeable – Ask about the world around you x times.
This achievement will complete as you discover sparks and go through their dialogue for the 5th, 10th and 30th time.
No questions unanswered – Ask about all the objects and places of interest in the first episode.
This achievement wants you to go through the dialogue from all the sparks, there are a total of 54 of them.
This is just the beginning – Complete the first episode: ‘The Wanderer and the Anchor’
The achievement is fairly self-explanatory, and unlocks once you’ve completed the game for your first time. I hear the developers are creating more episodes though, so look out for those!
Time’s running out, Crystal – You’ve gained an unconventional ally
This achievement is unlocked by discovering a specific spark in the Foxtrot city library. See the ‘Foxtrot library’ section under Chapter 2 in the guide, the spark in question is called “‘Garden of Time’ by R.R. Anonimatic.” While I cannot be certain as I don’t speak Spanish myself, it seems this spark may be a reference to something that happens in the real book, called “Jardín del tiempo” by R.R. Anonimatic, which appears to be a collection of short stories. If you speak Spanish and want to check it out, you can look for the ISBN-13 of 9781953540621 to find the book.
Cartography – Find the map of the world
This achievement will be unlocked once you discover a specific spark. There is a map of the two continents, ‘Uzu’ and
Olhum – Visit Olhum at the map screen in the Journal
Before you’re able to do these, you’ll have to unlock this map by discovering the spark for the ‘Cartography’ achievement, just above this one. You can find the journal in the opening menu; it’s going to be blank, don’t panic! The journal is actually used by tapping on the various items you’ve unlocked by finding sparks. On the left hand side, under the journal paper itself, will be the corner of another paper. Clicking on this will open the map of the continents. Find Olhu on the map, in the southern section of the Uzu side, and tap on it to unlock the achievement.
A star once told me a story – Find the secret terrace
Unfortunately I have been unable to unlock this achievement just yet, so I cannot confirm it’s exact conditions. However, the developers have been so kind as to let me know that it is unlocked at certain times of the day, and as such I will definitely be trying to unlock it later!
Here we come to an end for The Scorchfarer Sparks Location and Achievements hope you enjoy it. If you think we forget something to include or we should make an update to the post let us know via comment, and we will fix it asap! Thanks and have a great day!
