Welcome. This The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind God Mode Cheat Effects Guide.
With the console instruction “Toggle God mode,” or TGM, you can activate the cheat known as God Mode. God Mode does more than just keep you from dropping Health, Magicka, or Stamina, despite what it may initially appear to do.
This guide is divided into three sections: Confirmed effects (things I know happen because of the cheat) and unconfirmed effects (things I am unsure about).
Please let me know if you have any incorrect information in this guide.
Confirmed Effects
- There is no loss of Health, Magicka or Stamina. This is what most sources will tell about God Mode. UESP states that this is not the whole story. If you fight an NPC or creature with Reflect the reflected damage will harm you.
- No loss in Weapon Health – Your weapon will never be damaged no matter how many times you use it.
- 100% chance to cast Spells. You will always succeed in casting a spell.
Unconfirmed Effects
Logical Conclusions – Decent evidence to support
- No loss in Armor Health – I don’t wear a lot, but I don’t recall ever having to repair it. The armor I do wear is at 100% of my health. This would make sense, given that weapons don’t degrade.
- Higher chance of hitting enemies – I don’t find myself in situations that I have difficulty hitting the enemy. As far as I recall, most of the time I hit, I do damage. I could just ignore the times I don’t do damage because I spam attack very fast haha.
- There is no need to recharge Enchanted Items. I don’t recall ever having to do it, so I assume it’s God Mode.
Theories have no backing
- There is no loss of Lockpick Health. I don’t experience this at the moment, but I vaguely recall a time when my lockpicks seemed invincible. My theory is that lockpicks lose their health in OpenMW (which is what I use now), but they will be invincible when playing Vanilla.
- Ability to cast spells that require more Magicka than your current Magicka supply – Unfortunately, I don’t currently have any spells of this nature. However, I believe it is possible to cast spells with more Magicka than your current Magicka supply.
Feel free to test out my theories (let’s me know what happens if that happens)
