Beginner's Guide for Simple Builds in the "Book of Warriors": Analysis of Output Strategy.
The Book of Warriors is a roguelite & battle-chess game that has a lot of content and mechanics. The game contains many strategies and tricks that can confuse players when building teams. This article will focus on simple strategies that new players can use to build a team with high output.
It is normal that new players struggle at first. This is because characters in the game develop outside of battles. You can use fragments to improve your team and characters. To improve your team's abilities, it is recommended that new players start by investing 20 fragments in each character’s level-one ability. Adding attributes is an easy and practical way to enhance your team. When it comes to the universal talents of your team, investing in talents such as those that increase money or those that provide sigils that represent exclusive attributes after changing careers is very helpful.
Let's now introduce some basic info that teams who are responsible for output need to be aware of. The Book of Warriors calculates damage in a few different ways. The game calculates damage based on subtracting the enemy’s defense (or resistance to magic for Arcane), from our team’s Strength. Any excess is then the damage dealt. On top of the base damage, any sigils and talents that increase damage will be added. If your base Strength is high combined with high bonuses, the damage you deal to your enemy will also high. For example, if we have a Strength of 30, the enemy has a Defense of 10, and a Damage Bonus 50%, then the damage to the enemy would be (30-10-*1.5=30). If our base strength is low, then we will be unable to break through enemy defenses even with high bonus damage. If, for example, our strength is 20, while the opponent's defense level is 20, and if we have a bonus of 500% on damage, the actual amount of damage dealt is zero because (20-20-*6=0). For any team, it is important to have a high base strength (or Arcane).
2. Critical damage is a feature of the game that deals twice as much damage. The "skill attribute" determines critical damage, which cannot be avoided. To build an output team with high output, it is important to raise the skill attribute.
When you take into account these two conditions, building an output team becomes obvious. For physical output, choose a Swordsman, and for Arcane production, choose a Mage. Both characters are specialized in Strength (or Arcane), and have skill attributes that perfectly fit the needs of a team.
As for the two other team members, beginners can choose a priest, whose primary skill is healing. The second skill, however, can either increase or decrease the damage output of the enemy. Other team members can pair with a Knight/Boxer/Tank as support. If you select Archer, Pirate or Rogue as your second output, you can cultivate these positions.
Next, we'll take a team of three people consisting a priest, a mage, and a knight, and briefly explain the methods to build an output team.
Focus on Arcane for Mage upgrades. It is better to increase Arcane until it reaches 25 and then to invest in skill, because critical hits are very important. The Priest and Knight should concentrate on increasing defense and their health, adding some additional attributes as needed.
Priority is given to increasing Mage's Arcane Value. Here are some simple and easy to use builds:
Increase Arcane by adding anomalies
Ablaze Iteration can be used in conjunction with Witchcraft to inflict Ablaze upon the enemy. The Mage's Arcane score increases by 3 each time Ablaze hits an enemy. If the Mage invested in the second or third talent on right-hand side, they can also use Arcane Missiles inflict Ablaze to increase their Arcane values. This is an effective way to boost the Mage’s Arcane values and their damage output.
In addition to Ablaze and the "Anomalous Ressonance" sigil, the Mage may also use anomalies created by terrain on the field in combination with Ablaze. The Mage will stand on top a poison/river/magma terrain in order to receive a debuff. He can then use basic attack to inflict that debuff onto enemies. This can trigger the effects Witchcraft. This can be an effective way to boost the Mage’s damage output by taking advantage of terrain.
Increase Arcane by buffing:
This build requires both the "Luck Fairy", and "Sorcery Siphon", sigils.
This build will give the Mage an Arcane boost every time they gain a new buff. It is important that you understand that only gaining new buffs increases the Arcane Value. Adding layers of existing buffs does not increase Arcane Value.
Luck Fairy is one of the easiest sigils to use. You can also use other sigils to easily accumulate buffs, such a Priest talents (which increase attack and defence buffs).
Both builds are easy to build and cost little for new players. They can increase their Arcane value by using only two sigil slot. The remaining three slots are then used to fill any gaps that may exist in the team's composition. Sigils that are based on skill can be used, for example, to boost critical damage, such "Wound Laceration", and "Spectral Seeer". Spectral Seer in particular can increase critical damage output from a double to a quadruple. But it requires a higher base skill value as it will do no damage if a critical hit is not triggered.
If your enemy has a very high Arcane value then the "Blood Shaman's" sigil is a good option.
The "Blood Shaman' sigil increases the Mage's output of damage by 50% when fighting enemies with high Arcane values.
You can increase the Mage’s survivability by choosing the "Arcane Seal". This sigil can prevent the Mage being counterattacked.
The remaining sigil spaces can be filled according to the situation.
Using this build strategy, items in the game can be used to fill the remaining slots for sigils, depending on what is needed during battle. Items should therefore be aimed at increasing the Mage’s survivability.
For example, two potions are available, one which permanently increases maximum HP, and another which permanently adds shield. Both of these can help the mage survive longer during battles.
Mage can also feed the branches to them in their entirety, allowing for a higher base Arcane/skills value.
Codex of Valor should be mentioned. Due to the Mage's vulnerability to counterattacks it is recommended that a combat codex be purchased from the mysterious store and fed to the Mage in order to increase their atta
