Terraria Tips How to Survive in First Night in Game

Getting started

 
Start your world by chopping trees, these will give you…well…wood. Collect about at least 100 wood. 
With these wood, craft a workbench. With this wood, craft a sword and a bow. Replace the copper shortsword with your new sword. Copper shortswords are just a big pain to use, even worse back in 1.3! 
You can start to find some slimes to literally torture for gel so you can get torches. You can also start finding some stone for arrows and a furnace. 
After you did those stuff. Start building a base for you and the guide. The house have a door, a floor and a light source. To protect monsters from spawning in your base, add walls. Add a table and a chair to your base. Assign your base to the guide. You can now grind for armour. Cactus (found in desert or boreal wood (found in snow) will help. Just beware of vultures in the desert. 
 
 

Nightfall

 
When nightfall comes, zombies and demon eyes roam around almost everywhere. If you wanna survive the night, here’s what to do. 
 
Stay indoors, its kinda dangerous to go outside in the night, but if your brave enough, you can grind some zombies and demon eyes for money. But it’s best to stay inside. You can also start a mine under your base. Just be aware that there are quite dangerous enemies in the underground, such as skeletons, cave bats, giant worms and mother slimes.But they have some nice loot in caves. 
 
Once night time is over, you can the “You can do it!” achievement, which means you have survived you first night!
