A very helpful/useful guide for Skullgirls 2nd Encore – How to Install Pre-Censorship Original Story Art Mod
This mod partially reverses the “adjustment”, as MightyZug, the game’s director, calls it.
This is a simple file swap that will do what the guide says. The changes have been made in a way that does not fully restore the original story mode slides, but the majority of the changes are reverted.
It is also impossible to undo character sprites. Story Mode seems to be the last option without lowering the quality of the game or resorting higher seas.
I wouldn’t be surprised if they removed this guide/mod, or introduced an MD5 Checksum to the files we were replacing in a later patch, just like what they did with character images. So download now while you still can.
Mike Z read my other guide before he got fired, so perhaps the new management is going to see this one. So why not ask them some questions?
Why do you suppress the Remove SonicFox Mod? Why did you remove the link? Does it bother you that someone rejected your new artistic vision for this game?
Would you not consider it hypocritical that you vandalized assets of a video game whose unique vintage style and provocative art were one of its major selling points?
Do you think it’s consumer-friendly to remove a game’s content that has been around for a decade now? Can you tell me which part of the “Soviet voice announcer” pack was offensive to me or anyone else, as I was born in Russia and spent most of my childhood there? You must have received complaints about the content that you thought you had a moral and legal right retroactively to take away from everyone else.
Why are you working on an art style and storyline that you find offensive? What’s up with your strange contempt for your work?
Why did you censor art used for a cancer charity fundraising event?
I don’t understand your political, religious or social motives for this “adjustment”, as you call it. It sounds more like vandalism. You guys might be the American Christian puritans I heard about in the 1980s, or you may have new staff who have spent most of their time at 4Kids Entertainment with itchy hands. Or maybe the passage of time has changed your worldview and focus. This doesn’t bother anyone, and it shouldn’t.
It’s a bit annoying that, rather than taking responsibility and addressing the issues you have with the games in a sequel or another game, or quitting to work on a completely different franchise, you choose to mess with something that has already been established, bought by fans of the game on different platforms several times over the past ten years, and, in the case of some members, wasn’t even built by you.
What is the reason for this change? Who are the people who wanted these changes?
I don’t even see the “adjustments” in your community feedback. The active part of player base does something some call “review-bombing”. A disingenuous expression that means negative feedback the creator does not like. . Others are either trolling or don’t care. Where are those who will actively support your decisions and provide consistent and convincing arguments as to why they are good?
Annoying. It’s almost as annoying as gullible players that actively want less choice, more content, and greater power for vendors.

Copy the “data01 folder” to the parent folder of the game where SkullGirls.exe resides and agree to file overwrite.
I’m sure that the guys who worked here could also write long, fancy rationales for even the most bizarre “revisions”, ‘adjustments’ and updates of theirs.
