Possible performance fixes for Sekiro on PC with an Intel CPU and Nvidia GPU. May help on an AMD/Nvidia setup. Unknown if equivalent changes on a AMD/Radeon setup will help.

Nvidia Control Panel Settings (DO THESE FIRST)

Not all of these may be available to you depending on your system. In my experience, Vertical Sync is the biggest culprit.

01. Open the NVIDIA Control Panel and navigate to Manage 3D Settings

02. Select the tab Program Settings and find Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. If you can not find it, click on Add and try to find it here. (try running the game first and close it down again if you can not find it)

03. Under the dropdown called Select the preferred graphics processor for this program, select High-performance NVIDIA processor. This ensures that the game does not use your integrated GPU, which many people were reporting issues with

04. Set Monitor Technology to G-SYNC (if applicable)

05. Set Multi-Display/Mixed GPU Acceleration to Single display performance mode

08. Set Power Management Mode to Prefer maximum performance

09. Set Texture filtering – Quality to Performance

10. Enable Threaded Optimization

11. Set Maximum pre-rendered frames to 1

12. Apply the changes and navigate to Adjust desktop size and position

13. Check the checkbox Override the scaling mode set by games and programs and click on Apply

In-Game Settings

These adjustments are to establish a baseline, if Sekiro runs very good after you make these changes, you may be able to go back in and turn on Anti-aliasing and SSAO for example, or ramp up Medium settings to High.

01. Launch Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice

02. Click on Options and then Graphics Options

03. Set Screen Mode to Fullscreen

04. Set Screen Resolution to your monitor’s native resolution

05. Set Quality Settings to High

06. You have the option of choosing Automatic Rendering Adjustment. If you have this at On, then the game will adjust the rendering automatically when the frame rate drops. I recommend turning this OFF and manually adjusting settings.

07. Click on Advanced Settings

08. Set Texture Quality to Max

09. Set Antialiasing Application to Off. This setting has a high-performance impact.

10. Set SSAO to Off. This setting has a high-performance impact.

11. Set Depth of Field to Max

12. Set Motion Blur to High

13. Set Shadow Quality to Medium. This setting has a very high-performance impact.

14. Set Lighting Quality to Max

15. Set Effects Quality to Max

16. Set Volumetric Quality to Max
