Question: Is the max cannon limit different depending on the cannon type?
Answer: Yes. See ship descriptions above for details.

Question: How can I repair ships?
Answer: Visit a town with a wharf and speak to the merchant working there.

• Please note that wharf merchants can only repair some % of your ship.
• Wharf Merchants repair ability resets overnight.
• Not every wharf services all ships. For example, the Battleship can only be repaired in Port Royale.

Question: How can I get new ships & sell my existing ships?
Answer: To get / buy a ship:

• Board an enemy ship and defeat their captain in a duel.
• Buy a ship in towns that have a wharf.
  • Please note that ship selection changes every few days.
  • Not every town sells every ship. For example, you can only buy / sell Battleships in Port Royale.
  • When buying ships, pay attention to the state of the hull, sails and number of cannons. If these are low, you will need to spend money to fix the ship that you bought.

To sell a ship:

• Ships can be sold at towns with a wharf.
  • Similar to buying and repairing, not wharf buys all types of ships.

Question: How much crew I should have?
Answer: 33% sailors, 33% cannoniers, and 33% soldiers.

Question: How many crew weapons and armour I need per crew member?
Answer: For each crew member you will need:

• 1x cold weapon
• 2x pistols (any pistol type)

For each soldier you will also need:

• 1x armour set

Question: I keep losing sea battled: How can I get more stats?
Answer: You will need more crew; and for each crew member you will need weapons. See previous couple of questions for more details.

Question: I took over an enemy ship but it does not join my fleet: Why is that?
Answer: Once you took over the ship, you need to move one of your captains. Captains can be recruited in taverns or when returning to your ship. This is enabled after you progress the early game story point where a large Spanish armada sinks your ship.

Question: What is the best ship?
Answer: It all depends on your play style. For me, I like to have a Battleship since it allows me to have a massive crew of 600 people, largest number of long shooting cannons and an enormous cargo capacity. I like to get about 3-4 battleships in total as that allows to destroy any enemy fleet. For cargo, I would sometimes also get a Pinnace or Galleon to follow me around with nothing but cargo (no weapons, food or crew), saving me from a need to store cargo across multiple ships.
