-The Story of The Pine Valley RailRoad and it’s founder Edward De-Hallan.
Entry: 1
March 1886
I have to take a deep breath… not sure what made me think starting all this was a good idea. Not that I had many options, every male member of the Family Hallan need to make his own fortune. It was how I found my way into the wilderness buying the land of an old railroad operation that had gone bust. Only thing left was an old porter , a small yard , and a water tower.
It had taken close to a year, however an extension to the yard and track up the local lumbar yard is complete. It seems at least some rummors are true, The Chinese make a good work force in pinch, I could never afford to pay the local lads, not at the numbers needed.
Now we preparing are preparing to send the porter on it’s first run, at least sense the the last railroad had shutdown.
we had the clean her out some, “Betsy” had gra*s growing around her Pistons when we found her, now she is cleaned up and ready to go… or so I hope.
There is only one way to find out now.
