Enabling the developer console

>Go to the Portal main menu
>Select “Options”
>Select the “Keyboard” tab
>Click the “Advanced” button
>Check the box next to “Enable developer console (~)”
>Click apply

How it’s done

Now that the developer console has been enabled, you need to select your challenge. Any of them will work. Any map and any challenge mode. Follow the steps below to easily get gold medals on each challenge.
>Load your desired map and challenge
>Open the dev console using the tilde (~) key
>Type in sv_cheats 1
>Type in noclip
>Exit the dev console
>With noclip now enabled, fly to the exit elevator of the map you loaded (DO NOT ENTER THE ELEVATOR)
>While in the room with the elevator, open the dev console again using the tilde key (~)
>Type in noclip again to disable it
>Type in sv_cheats 0
>Save the game
>Exit the game
>Relaunch Portal and load the save you just made
>Enter the exit elevator

And there you go! Rinse and repeat those steps on every challenge and get the gold medals and the achievements that come with them effortlessly.
(Also, please note that not following the steps shown will result in the game calling you a cheater and not giving you progression)
