This is a guide for Picrastination – Unlocking every achievement

Completing Picrastination with all medals.

Save Location

Save files are located at:

%userprofile%\AppData\LocalLow\Bearcat Games\Picrastination\

The *.txt file represents the saved files.

If you need a backup to restore, remember that the game uses Steam Cloud. Disable it first to avoid any conflicts.

Stats Reset Bug

To unlock an achievement, you must first increase a Steam stat. To ensure that the progress bars are working correctly, use the Steam overlay. As shown below, stats can reset to zero after completing a puzzle.

I recommend restarting your game if this happens. It seems to fix the problem. Continued play could cause stat updates to fail.

The issue seems to be a Valve problem, but the game lacks a fallback mechanism in the event that one of the stats does not update. If, for example, the stats for completing tiny-puzzles fail to update, and you complete all 32 puzzles in the game, the Steam stats will only show 31/32 and there is no way to get to the last one. In this case, it is necessary to delete the saved file and replay any tiny game to correct the error. Stats are still retained if you delete your save file.

Constellation Prize

Par Stars: Beat the par time in each level to collect them all

Beat the developer’s par time for all 176 standard levels. If you don’t succeed in beating the par time, you can always try it again.

Hog Heaven

Beat the par time in the Groundhog Level

This achievement is part of the “Constellation Award” achievement. The groundhog level in the game is Level 40.

One Hit Wonder

Complete a puzzle by clicking on the mouse

Complete any puzzle by clicking the mouse. This is best done with a small puzzle. Level 10: Legs would be a good option.

Wee Rule

Complete all Tiny Puzzles

Solve all 32 5×5 puzzles.

A Small Victory

Completing all small puzzles

Solve all 32 small crosswords that are up to 10×15 or 15×10.

Happy Medium

Complete all Medium Puzzles

Solve all 32 medium-sized puzzles up to 15×15.

Larging It

Complete all large puzzles

Solve all 40 large, 20×20-sized puzzles.

Massive Attack

Complete all the Huge puzzles

Solve all 40 25×25-sized puzzles.

Extra Modes

The Daily Challenge, Endless and Endurance puzzles will be generated randomly, so no solutions will be provided. All 3 modes produce 7×7 puzzles.

Daily Challenge

Llama Farmer

Daily Challenge: Complete 5 Daily Llama Puzzles

As Bearcat Games, the developer, puts it:

Hi there,
The Llama farmer achievement is just grabbed by playing the Daily Challenge regularly. Every so often one of the levels isn't random - it's a crude pic of a llama. You need to have completed (IIRC) 5 of these. From memory it turns up on average every 3 days. With hindsight I'd have done this differently, because if you haven't been playing the daily challenge already it's going to take time...

Here is a llama-themed puzzle:

This achievement can only be earned after 15 days of daily challenges. The challenge is easy: solve five 7×7 crossword puzzles against the timer. You can unlock a piece of mosaic by beating the clock.

If you don’t have the patience to wait, then:

1. Back up your saved data.
2. Play the Daily Challenge
3. Repeat steps 1-2 every day until you have completed a challenge with the llama.
4. Restore the saved files from step 1.
5. You should be able to get the llama again if you play the Daily Challenge.
6. Repeat steps 4-5 to unlock the achievement.

 

Endless

Complete 111 small levels on endless mode

Endless mode is a random 7×7 grid with no time limit. To unlock a piece of the mosaic, you must complete eight puzzles per day.

Beat 20 levels in Endurance Mode

The endurance mode is similar in concept to endless mode but includes a timer. Each completed puzzle adds time to the remaining time. Each puzzle should be completed in 30 seconds. Remember which numbers can fill entire columns/rows (e.g. 1-1-1-1, 1-2-2, 3-3, 4-2, 5-1, etc. ).

Complete a Mosaic Level

A mosaic puzzle is an image divided into smaller pieces. This achievement is unlocked after completing the first two-piece mosaic puzzle.

You will need 16 pieces to unlock all four puzzles. You can only get 2 pieces per day so it will take 8 days to complete all four mosaic puzzles.

A is for Achievement

Completing all levels of the “A Is for Anthrax” levelpack

Self-explanatory. This achievement does not require you to beat the par times. This pack contains 26 puzzles.

We Scare A Lot

Completing all levels in the Halloween Level Pack

Self-explanatory. This achievement does not require you to beat the par times. This pack contains 40 puzzles.

Extras

Solid Snake

Score 100 points in the Snake bonus game

You can unlock this minigame by completing Tiny 29: Snake. The minigame is similar to any other snake clone.

Unlock all colour schemes

There are 23 color schemes in total. Three color schemes are available right away, but the other 20 must be unlocked. To unlock a color scheme, you must complete the following levels:
