PAYDAY 2 Gameplay Tips for New Players in Payday 2

What you should do first

 
 
The best thing to do when you first start up the game is to go through the tutorial. it will teach you the basics about going stealth and going loud. 
 
 

Doing your first heist

 
 
Go into Crime net (Go Online), if you are going to play multiplayer then click on one of the icons that show up. If you are going to single player then go into the Contract_Broker. You should start out with the basics i.e Jewelry Store, Go Bank, Bank Heist, etc. If you think you can handle hard difficulties then go with one that has 1 or 2 yellow skulls. You probably shouldn’t start with stealth first but i’m not your boss. If you are going stealth on multiplayer then when you join the game before you press start ask the host if it is safe to join. 
 
 

Unlocks

 
 
When you complete your first heist you unlock a lot of different things, ranging from guns, throwables, melees, and armour. You can also unlock things like skins from card drops at the end of the heist. 
 
 

Money

 
 
You will use most of your money with guns and modifications for those guns, When you complete a heist you get 2 types of money, offshore money, and regular money, offshore is for paying for heist contracts, offshore paydays and other things. 
 
 

Skills

 
 
When you complete a mission you will gain things called “skills” these skills help you build your play style. go into your inventory and go into your skills. You will see tabs at the top called Mastermind, Enforcer, Technician, Ghost, and Fugitive. In those tabs there are skills. You unlock these different skills by clicking on them. You cannot have every single skill so you have to put your skills in things that help your play style. You can ace them which gives you more of the skill. You should look up tutorials on what build you want to be. If you don’t know what build you are going to be i recommend using just the tank build for now. Perk Deck

 
 
The perk deck, like the skills, are used for what build you are going to do, once again i recommend using a video for your build. You unlock more of your perk deck by gaining xp and using the xp on the perk deck. 
 
 

Amour

 
 
Amour is used to protect yourself from bullets. You have to have the iron man skill aced to have the improved combined tactical vest. You wouldnt put on armour in a stealth because it makes you slower, lowers your concealment, and makes it so you get detected faster. 
 
 

Equipment

 
 
Equipment is used for helping you in a heist, every single player in your game has equipment (except the A.I) you use the equipment in different ways so if you are putting down a medic bag it should be in a place that people go by a lot, if its a turret it should be by a place that police are next to a lot, or if its just med kit you can really place those anywhere. Medic bags can heal you but can also remove downs. If you want to find more about gadgets i recommend using the payday 2 wiki. 
 
 

Buying a gun

 
 
Buying your first gun can be overwhelming. Most videos on the build that your using will tell you which gun to use. Try looking for the one that has really good damage and good ammo. Customizing a weapon can be confusing. If you haven’t unlocked any weapon modifications then you have to unlock them with Continental coins, you get continental coins by completing missions, doing safe house raids, or doing crime sprees. Or you can unlock them by doing a card draw and the end of a heist. 
 
 

Melee

 
 
Melees are used for close attacks, different melee weapons do different things, some of them do basically the same things. Some melees you have to buy with packs like the Gage shotgun pack. Some of the melees do different things like the electric brass knuckles which will shock cops and cause them to stagger where you can shoot them. 
 
 

Crew Management

Infamy

 
 
Once you gain 100 levels and acquire 200,000 Offshore money then you are ready to infamy. Infamy is basically going back to the start but with your guns, perk decks, and masks with some other cool new stuff like new masks, a new rank, and gaining more xp faster. 
 
 

The story

 
 
Payday 2 has an extremely good story and trust me, you don’t want to spoil it. So try to avoid any spoilers. Play the story mode (Career at the main menu) in payday 2, you might want to be at least level 30 or 40 before playing it because the difficulty is very hard. 
 
 

Getting Kicked

 
 
And lastly, getting kicked. It always sucks to get kicked but when you are new to the game it will happen a lot. If you are trying to join a deathsentence one down game and you are a low level you have a very high chance to get kicked. Some people in this game are just downright ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and will kick you for absolutely no reason.
