A quick and easy guide with pictures to expand your woefully tiny car garage limit with just one simple trick!

Introduction

You’re probably here because either you’ve just hit your garage limit and didn’t want to part with any of your precious vehicles to experience all the cars in the game, or you struggle with purchasing new rides as your begin to reach the limits of your arbitrarily finite garage over time. However, thanks to a little oversight provided by an update that shipped to the game long before it hit the Steam storefront, your garage can be expanded to be practically infinite with just a little trick that we will exploit with the warehouse!

The Steps

Step 1

First things first, make sure to leave an empty car slot visible in the garage. This will be necessary to purchase new rides in order to send them to the warehouse with a little trickery. Don’t absentmindedly fill it up with another car in the meantime unless you want to repeat what you are about to do.

Unless you are confident that you can do this successfully on your first try, it it highly recommended that you practice the glitch on any of the free “bonus” cars obtained through playing the game. These include:

M3 E46 “Deluxe” (2006)
Ken’s Hoonicorn Mustang (1965)
Morohoshi’s Diablo SV (1999)
Eddie’s Skyline GT-R V-Spec (1999)
Magnus’ 911 Carrera RSR 2.8 (1973)
Nakai’s 911 Carrera RSR 2.8 (1973)

If not, you can instead practice it on a sufficiently cheap car like the humble little Volvo 242 costing a mere $7200 a pop. You can certainly go right ahead with a more expensive option, but I am not responsible for any instances of the glitch failing to work and resulting in you wasting money due to having to immediately sell the car back to perform the action again.

Step 2

Window out your game and pull out Task Manager. You will use it to tactically exit the game just as the game registers the purchase of your desired new car. A gaming controller or such is highly recommended but not necessary. Just be quick!

Prepare to purchase your new ride. Click on “End Process” on the NFS16.exe entry in Task Manager to invoke a confirmation pop-up. Need for Speed™ Unlimited Garage Glitch

Once you’re ready, preferably using your controller with it, hit the buy button and then immediately close the game by hitting End Process on the confirmation pop-up from your Task Manager with your mouse the moment the screen turns black with a message confirming your purchase on-screen. Pop the game back on and see if it worked.

The Result

If successful, you should see the same empty space in your garage. Worry not, it should be in your warehouse now for you to find! Make sure you replace an existing car in your garage with it instead of, like mentioned before, absentmindedly filling up the empty car slot with your new ride. Repeat and enjoy!

If unsuccessful, however, sell the car and give it another go. The timing of your computer may vary.
