This guide outlines how to get each of the end game awards in Nancy Drew: Tomb of the Lost Queen

Intro

As an anthropology aficionado, I loved loved loved the Egyptian theme for this Nancy Drew adventure.

For this game, you can’t see which awards you’ve earned until the end of the game. I would recommend saving throughout the game, especially towards the end so that you can go back and accomplish awards that you have missed.

Camelback

“Packing away water like a Camelus”
Drink at least 7 cups of water, but don’t drink them back to back or you’ll die from water intoxication. I’d recommend drinking one each time you pass the water truck and getting this one early on in the game before the water is inaccessible.

Code Breaker

“Leaving no inscription coded”
Translate all coded hieroglyphs without using “Quick Translate”

Here are all the locations:
Tunnel 3: Right of the door leading out of the room with the scarab puzzle

First burial chamber:
— Above the lamp
— On coffin 1
— On coffin 2
— Inside coffin 2 (after you reassemble the parchment scraps)

Main room: Behind the scaffolding (after Abdullah leaves)

Cat tomb: On the central pillar under the scale puzzle

Inner tomb: Plaque held by statue to the left of the door to the Destiny tiles

Curses!

“For being well and truly cursed”
See all things that might possibly be evidence of a curse. Here are the locations/accidents you’ll need:

— Flashlight failure: After the flashlight fails, try to recharge it in the antiquities tent, then look at the charger.
— Scaffolding collapse: Occurs when you look closely at the hole in the lid of the first sarcophagus.
— Slashed water tank: Occurs some time after Dylan arrives. If you notice a large patch of wet sand under the truck, go close to take a look at it.
— Dylan’s accident: Happens when you open the cat tomb and Dylan pushes you aside to go in first.
— Locusts on water tank: After Dylan leaves, keep an eye on the water truck; at some point, you’ll see a swarm of bugs around the broken tank.
— Cobra in tent: After you reach the golden sarcophagus and take Abdullah’s key, return to the residence tent and look at Nancy’s cot.
— Reappearing mummy: After you have opened the other two tomb areas, return to the first tomb and open the coffin to find a mummy where there was only parchment before.
— Sandstorm: Occurs after you open Lily’s trunk and take the missing piece from Jon’s notes.

Egyptologist

“Erudite ancient world detective”
Read all printed material (or at least click through all the pages)

Here are all the ones I found:
Residence tent, Jon’s area: Jon’s notes, letter about Nancy (in the trunk)
Residence tent, Nancy’s area: “Glyphs” book, dictionary, “How to Read Egyptian Hieroglyphics” book (in the trunk), Professor Hotchkiss’s book (on the nightstand)
Residence tent, Lily’s area: curses book, trunk lock booklet (left of bed), snake book, postcard, “Slithering Snakes Reptile Emporium” flyer, Jon’s missing notes (in the trunk)
Residence tent, Abdullah’s area: letter re: Lily, letter re: Jamila (in the trunk)

Antiquities tent, left table: “Relic” book, S.P.I.E.D. flyer
Antiquities tent, shelves: site map with numbers
Antiquities tent, right table: list of amulets
Antiquities tent, outside: scrap re: the jackal amulet

Dylan: “Pantheon” page

Tomb, upper room: journal page (January 14-20)
Tomb, cat tomb, inside drawer: journal pages (December 8-23)
Tomb, tunnel 5: journal pages (December 30 – January 10)

Easter Egg

“For finding a hidden surprise”
Classic Nancy Drew award – for this game, there are three Easter eggs you can find, you only need to find one to get the award but all are pretty sneaky 😉

Enigmatic egg: In the antiquities tent, pick up the pick on the right table, then use it on the whole jar on the shelf at the back of the room.
Uncanny egg: In tunnel 3, after you find the missing scarab but before you solve the scarab puzzle, move the scarabs into the corners of the board.
Mysterious egg: You’ll need at least one of the previous eggs to get this one. In the cat tomb, put one of the other eggs into the slot in the scale puzzle (before you solve the puzzle).

Feathered Friend

“Acknowledging a crested flyer”
BEFORE solving the bird puzzle, push the hoopoe in and out at least 7 times

Gamer

“Player extraordinaire – antiquities style”
Play Senet (the game in the tent) at least 5 times, doesn’t matter if you win or lose

Lights Out

“For trying to get a little light back”
After you discover the burial chamber and the flashlight burns out, take it back to the antiquities tent and try to recharge it, then look at the wires on the recharger to trigger this award.

Research Assistant

“Helping out an old friend”
Correctly answer eight (!) questions for Professor Hotchkiss.

Scarab Slide

“For spending time with insects”
While solving the scarab puzzle, move the scarabs around at least 40 times.

Translator

“Hieroglyphs are cool!”
Translate at least 8 non-coded hieroglyphics. This means you can use your translator book to click on the hieroglyphics for a translation.
