Just starting out in MVOL but you’re a bit lost? You’ve come to the right place! In this guide we’ll explain the basic mechanics used in the game to help you in your adventure.

I-The lantern

This is your most precious possession! It contains half your brain and is useful for many other things. It allows you to light your way when you carry it, but you can also use it to activate various mechanisms or to keep an eye on a place while staying safe.
 
 

 
 
 

II-The pentagram

The pentagrams that you will find in the castle allow you to save your adventure.
 
 

 
 
 

III-The pressure slabs

The pressure slabs are activated with a weight, the weight needed can vary depending on the size of the slab.
 
 

 
 

 
 
 

IV-Pushable crates

During your adventure you will encounter different types of crates of different sizes that you can push to activate mechanisms or reach places that are normally inaccessible.
 
 

 
 

 
 
 

V-Levers

There are all kinds of levers in MVOL that you will discover during your exploration. They are there to activate or deactivate the many mechanisms that will block your way.
 
 

 
 
 

VI-Trust the flies!

You can interact with the elements surrounded by a cloud of flies. Some of them are clearly visible but others will be more difficult to find, so look around to make sure you don’t miss anything.
 
 

 
 
 

VII-Know how to read!

Reading is essential in MVOL, whether it is to learn more about the world around you by reading the various notes scattered throughout the area, or during your battles where you will need it to better understand your opponents, or to read the clues that will allow you to solve various puzzles. But be careful, you’ll need all your brain power to succeed in reading.
 
 

 
 
 

VIII-Re-starting an area

If you ever find yourself stuck due to a bad manipulation, go to the past menu where you can do “Restart the area”.
 
 

 
 

 
 
 

IX-Watch out for Rats

Beware of the rats in the castle! With your lantern you are safe, but if you approach them without your lantern they’ll eat you…
