This guide will give information about the Colossingum, including each monster’s level 20 stats, moves, and battle-based costumes. All credit goes to the MSM Fandom site (https://mysingingmonsters.fandom.com/wiki/My_Singing_Monsters_Wiki).

Introduction

Out of all the islands, the Colossingum is the most unique. It has a ton of exclusive features within its battle system. This guide will list as much information about the Colossingum as I can.

Included in this guide:

  • Stats of every Colossingum Monster at Level 20
  • Type Weaknesses and Resistances for every Colossingum Monster
  • Explanation of damage calculations
  • List of moves for every monster, including type, power, requirements for obtaining, and any move replacements
  • My opinions for each move-changing costume (main recommendation is bolded)

Some things to keep note of:
1. Each x-element monster has roughly the same level of effectiveness. Each monster’s stats is a balance of power (how much damage they can deal) and stamina (health). Monsters will be sorted by their element count and then listed by their stamina stat.
2. Type weaknesses and resistances will be listed based on a monster’s defensive capabilities. For example, since Water attacks are weak against Plant-types, Water will be listed as a resistance for the Potbelly. Since Air moves are strong against Plant-types, Air will be listed as a weakness for the Potbelly.
3. Musical attacks deal neutral damage to every monster in the game.
4. Seasonal Monsters are a bit stronger than three-element monsters, while also enjoying the luxury of no weaknesses (or resistances) to any elemental attacks

Please let me know if I have made any errors, and I will fix them.

How Damage is Calculated

  • Overall, a monster’s power stat represents the average damage that it will deal with its first move. Monsters have a chance to deal between 10% more and 10% less damage of its listed power stat.
  • Subsequent moves that the monster unlocks via level up will increase in power by a factor of 1.xx. For example, a move listed with a power of 105% will deal damage that has an average damage of 1.05 * Base Power.
  • Monsters of x-elements deal x times as much damage as normal.
  • Monsters of higher elements also have damage resistance against all moves, with triple-element monsters taking 25% less damage and quad-element monsters taking 50% less damage.

So, to summarize, the formula used to calculate a move’s damage is

Base Power Stat * Number of monster’s elements * 1 (against single/double-elements) or 3/4 (against triple-elements) or 1/2 (against quad-elements) * Move Power * Random number between 0.9 and 1.1

Costume Opinions –

  • Water Buff-a-low – Decent upgrade, making Hoarse Holler a Water-type move. This costume is not recommended against the Oaktopus or Spunge.
  • Off the Cuffs – Decent upgrade, increasing Hoarse Holler’s damage by 20%. I wouldn’t use it since the other costumes allow for the Mammott to access two different elemental attacks
  • Bunce Cap – Fantastic costume, since it gives the Mammott access to a Plant-type move (which counters Mammott’s Water weakness) while also not replacing any moves

Costume Opinions –

  • Socks of Splendor – Decent upgrade, increasing Doo-♥♥♥’s damage by 15%
  • Flair Supply – Decent upgrade, making Doo-♥♥♥ an Air-type move, which allows Toe Jammer to counter its Plant-type weakness. The duo of Water and Air will always be at least neutral against every monster in the game, which is a definite plus.

    Infamous Mug Pot

    • Power: 121%
    • Requirement: Infamous Mug Pot (Costume)

Costume Opinions –

  • Lichenthrope – Good upgrade, adding a Cold-type move that is pretty strong.
  • Soils of Spore – Good upgrade, making Flytrap Duet an Earth-type move, which allows Potbelly to counter its Air weakness. The combo of Plant and Earth will always be at least neutral against every monster in the game, which is a definite plus.
  • Infamous Mug Pot – Great upgrade to Paradiddle, increasing its power by 21%. I feel like this is better than Soils of Spore since the Potbelly is one of the weakest when it comes to power. Boosting its overall damage is a good idea.

    • Requirement: All-Seeing Belly (Costume)
    • Replaces: Birdsong

Costume Opinions –

  • Plaster of Power – Bad upgrade, only increasing Birdsong’s damage by 7%. For the weakest monster in the game, this is a really low damage buff.
  • All-Seeing Belly – Decent upgrade, making Birdsong a Cold-type move, which allows the Tweedle to counter its Earth weakness. The duo of Air and Cold will always be at least neutral against every monster in the game, which is a definite plus.
