Bikes & Riding

Picture Achievement Description
Lonely Mountains: Downhill [+DLC] - 100% Achievement Guide Jack of all Trails Cross all finish lines with Grasshopper
Lonely Mountains: Downhill [+DLC] - 100% Achievement Guide Like a Gazelle Cross all finish lines with Pacebraker
Lonely Mountains: Downhill [+DLC] - 100% Achievement Guide Lycra Runner Cross all finish lines with Javelin
Lonely Mountains: Downhill [+DLC] - 100% Achievement Guide Off the beaten tracks Cross all finish lines with Trailblazer
Lonely Mountains: Downhill [+DLC] - 100% Achievement Guide Offroad King Cross all finish lines with Boar
Lonely Mountains: Downhill [+DLC] - 100% Achievement Guide Gravity Cross all finish lines with Geronimo
Lonely Mountains: Downhill [+DLC] - 100% Achievement Guide King of Bikes and Master of Mountains Cross all finish lines with all bikes

1. trails x 6 bikes = a minimum of 96 successful runs.
Very simple task, but not necessarily an easy one.

It’s very easy to keep track of which combinations you have and haven’t completed yet, by checking the upper right corner of each map:

Lonely Mountains: Downhill [+DLC] - 100% Achievement Guide
The symbols from left to right:
Grasshopper
-> Trailblazer
–> Pacebraker
—> Boar
—-> Javelin
—–> Geronimo.
In other words: identical to the ingame order, when you select your bike.

In the last chapter of this guide, you’ll find an overview which bikes you are FORCED to use per track, in order to complete their challenges & earn their paint jobs — just in case you want to avoid using bikes more often than you need to per track.

Picture Achievement Description
Lonely Mountains: Downhill [+DLC] - 100% Achievement Guide Do it like Jason! Jump 15 Meters
Lonely Mountains: Downhill [+DLC] - 100% Achievement Guide Falling is like flying 99% of the time Fall 20 Meters

Ignore these two. They’ll unlock before you know it.
Note though, that they do NOT pop up on screen upon unlocking.
For me personally, the steam achievements triggered upon closing the game – via the proper ingame main menu button.

Picture Achievement Description
Lonely Mountains: Downhill [+DLC] - 100% Achievement Guide Ride it like you stole it Reach a Top Speed of 100 Km/H or 62 M/h

This one has a fair chance of unlocking, without you actively trying to do so.
Especially when you try to complete all trails with Pacebraker or Javelin.
If it didn’t, grab your Javelin and go to track 3-1 CP3 / Sierra Rivera – Hell’s Spire, Section 4/7. You’ll be able to figure it out from there.
Like the achievements above, this one triggered upon closing the game.

Picture Achievement Description
Lonely Mountains: Downhill [+DLC] - 100% Achievement Guide Rolling, Rolling, Rolling! Ride 750 meters without pedaling
Lonely Mountains: Downhill [+DLC] - 100% Achievement Guide No brakes, high stakes! Ride 1000 meters without braking

As with the 3 achievements above, these 2 do NOT unlock right away. The typical steam achievement notification popped up upon closing the game.

While you can easily beat the first level without ever relying on your brakes, there really is no easy way to ride 750 meters without pedaling… Legitimately.

But there’s a very efficient way to get both of these achievements at the same time, in a matter of a few minutes (Exactly 4min worked for Rolling, Rolling, Rolling. Already had the other one):

Start the first trail of the game and, while still at the top of the mountain, hit accelerate for just a second and then just go in circles for a few minutes.
Just keep either of the [A], [D], [<] or [>] buttons on your keyboard pressed and you’re done. It’s really that easy. (Controller player? Just switch to keyboard for this one.)

  • Lonely Mountains: Downhill [+DLC] - 100% Achievement Guide

Crash your Bike

Picture Achievement Description
Lonely Mountains: Downhill [+DLC] - 100% Achievement Guide Ride Forest! Ride! Ride a trail without crashing

This one is not easy, when you just started out.
But you’ll HAVE to do this a whooping 32 times anyway.
Do NOT attempt this outside of the “Free Ride” mode.

You do NOT need to go back to the main menu for this one.
Restarting the run back at the top of each trail is sufficient.

Picture Achievement Description
Lonely Mountains: Downhill [+DLC] - 100% Achievement Guide Tree Hugger Hit trees 500 times
Lonely Mountains: Downhill [+DLC] - 100% Achievement Guide You Rock! Hit rocks 1000 times
Lonely Mountains: Downhill [+DLC] - 100% Achievement Guide Spikey Bikey! Hit cactuses 100 times
Lonely Mountains: Downhill [+DLC] - 100% Achievement Guide Maybe try a boat? Go swimming 50 times

These achievements will both take quite a while and no time at all.
Meaning, once you’ve finished all challenges, all free rides and each trail with each bike, you should already have them, or be very close to unlocking them, at the very least.
Except for the cactuses maybe, but those only need to be crashed into a 100 times, so it’s okay.

Picture Achievement Description
Lonely Mountains: Downhill [+DLC] - 100% Achievement Guide Who pays all the hospital bills? Hit 2 trees in one crash
Lonely Mountains: Downhill [+DLC] - 100% Achievement Guide Sticks and Stones do break your bones! Hit 1 tree and 1 rock in one crash
Lonely Mountains: Downhill [+DLC] - 100% Achievement Guide That needs a bandage Hit 3 rocks in one crash

You can safely ignore these 3. They’ll unlock by themselves very early one.
If you’ve already played the game a bit before reading this, chances are, you already unlocked them.
Unlocking all other achievements except these 3 however, now THAT would be quite an achievement in itself.

Picture Achievement Description
Lonely Mountains: Downhill [+DLC] - 100% Achievement Guide I hope the bike is okay! Hit 1 tree and go swimming afterwards
Lonely Mountains: Downhill [+DLC] - 100% Achievement Guide Highlander Crash against a rock, a tree, a cactus and into the water

The earliest spot to unlock the Highlander is trail 3-1 CP 6: Sierra Rivery – Devil’s Cut, Section 7/7.
Head to the last checkpoint / section of the game, and you’ll have a clear view of the spot.
To make it easier for you:

Lonely Mountains: Downhill [+DLC] - 100% Achievement Guide

The spot above is confirmed to work. It’s where I got the achievement. But you might also be able to find a few spots on trail 3-3: Sierra Rivery – Red Rock River, section 5/5.
The spot JUST after the last checkpoint seems to be able to do the trick and would be far more comfortable than the one above.
I wasn’t able to confirm it though, since I had unlocked the achievement already.
(Yes, there’s a bit of water just behind the middle tree.)
