This guide will include decks and builds that I utilized in the game when revisiting it. I’m attempting to make this preparation easier. If you appreciate the game of Library of Ruina but dislike developing decks, you’ve come to the correct spot. Remember that I’m not going to design the most game-changing decks or the finest decks conceivable. There are several manuals available that offer recommendations for possible builds, but they do not allow you to construct a deck that is unique to you. This is why I wrote these instructions.
As I did with my previous guides.
The new passive attribution is the first item on the table. It has been upgraded from 6-8 to 8, so we can give more passive point, so let’s update important stuff, such as the builds of our main team.
You’ll be able to see that Meow isn’t one of these. I transferred all three Meow pages to my Full Stop floor (. Refer to the next section). Salvador was purchased back by me. I also removed Sayo from Jikan, and I have my own reasons.
Battle Ready will be a very useful passive. Battle Ready is an excellent passive that increases your starting hands from 4 to 6 pages. Your entire deck is 9 pages. This helps you to maintain consistency. You can also stop drawing at turn start if you have 8 combat page in hand.
Olga now restores 3 lights every turn: one from Margin, one form Stacking the Deck and one from the new turn. Each turn, you will have 3 combat pages.
Oscar has +1 Strength, healing after winning clashes, and two additional pages in his starting hands.
Salvador has +1 in slash power, two more pages in his beginning hand, and some bleed to match that burn.
Jikan has +1 slash, additional bleed stacks, two more pages, and Jikan has two more pages in his beginning hand.
Second Floor Updating
Next up is my “Full Stop Floor”, which I will update if anything happens to my first floor.
In short, choose a floor you don’t intend to use and give it this construction:
Speed is Gyeong-mi (.
Three times for three Librarians. If you choose a floor that has a fourth librarian, they will share the same build. However, there are no Meow or Liwei pages (. They are purple and you can only have 3 purple key pages). These passives may be used instead.
Bzz Bzz aids the Full Stop strategy by weakening enemies even more on the first turn. To ensure you kill your enemies on your first turn, the +2 Pierce Damage is more damage.
Knight of Despair
If you wish, you can postpone this and come back with more powerful stuff later.
The good news? Knight of Despair is much easier than Queen of Hatred. The bad news is that this is a gimmicky fighting style and you need to learn. Your emotion cap at level 2 is better than level 1, so that’s a nice change.
Take Olga, Salvador. Take “Love” to heal. You won’t be able to kill her in one shot so be prepared to perform the gimmick twice. You will need to do 150 damage each to a staggered opponent during both of these chances.
These are the three ranged attacks that you must win against:
A single big attack – which is lost to Transpierce
The two attacks – which could lose to Daring Decision, Crack of Dawn or Collision?
The final attack – which can be lost to many combat pages
Transpierce can defeat any swords by using ranged attacks.
However, clashes cannot be guaranteed. Transpierce, which has +1 strength and +1 power from Solidarity can roll a minimum 8 while the sword can roll a 9 and a 10. The sword can then beat you.
So… yeah…
There’s RNG. My recommendation for handling “if the blade hits me” events is to use your economy pages (light regenerate and/or draw power to one-side of the sword you expect to lose against. Don’t lose heart. Keep trying. It’s okay.
Puppets
I know that I tend to go left to right, but I will go right to the left. I have my reasons. This reception, which is lengthy and includes three acts, is a great start.
Jikan is able to withstand blunt attacks. This is a nice thing, but due the self-bleed, it will most likely end in his death. You can bring Mars to replace Jikan. It will be geared with the same weapon Salvador uses.
Walter is too weak to Blunt attack, so don’t bring him along. Sayo is the same. Hanafuda can also be used to replace Olga.
This can be done with one floor or all three floors. You can use your Full Stop Floor to defeat enemies on your previous floor.
I did three floors of preparation in case someone needed the third floor.
First floor: Olga (Salvator, Oscar, Jikan (, Mars)).
Second floor: Full Stop
Third floor: Jikan or Jikan again, Mars (and Jikan a second time). A Pam (it doesn’t matter which).
I gave her Walter’s Speed and Stephan’s passive power boost, as well as Stephan’s first-turn power booster. It was just enough to get me through this reception.
This will be the most likely time you’ll ever use this key page. Her ability to use key pages is only going to get better and she won’t be able to use her weakness to slash in a reception with only blunt attacks.
To be clear, Hod’s first floor was my floor; Netzach’s second floor was my floor; and Yesod’s third floor was ours.
All floors have their benefits. Hod’s is the floor I am using. One librarian will receive “Look of the Day”, which grants them +2 power. Enemies will be inflicted with -1 power by using “Alertness.” “Axe” gives all librarians’ slash attacks an (+13 power boost. There is a downside to this power boost, however. “Axe”, which can stack with Sayo’s passive, is good for Salvador; Olga may also benefit from it.
The Weighty Puppet can help you create a key page.
8 o’Clock Circus
To the left are the Puppets. This reception is much more straightforward than the last.
As far as the fight is concerned, don’t allow them to land their buffs. Emma will be vulnerable if Noah wins.
After you win, you will get a solid key page that will help you. Add some puppet combat pages and the 1 Blunt power from Puppet and you have something incredible.
Although you can use the Puppet page to give Emma’s passives, it would be much worse. Emma has two 4 cost passives that you can choose from. This is the best setup and the best thing about it is how consistent it is: three draw, four light restore.
Yes, Olga and Oscar will be my main team.
General Invites
Let’s go on a short detour to see some optional stuff. There are two general invitations. One invites you to the first against Seven Association. The other invites you to Blade Lineage with Bamboo Hatted KIM.
Kim will not use his big counter dice to fight you. Don’t clash with it and do not one-side him. Bamboo Hatted is a very strong key page. Dante’s Moulinet is also worth mentioning.
I’m giving him the “Axe” on Hod’s floor.
Dante is not a good choice for me as he is too weak to Pierce. Kim can only use three passive slots because he already has plenty of them. I’ve seen people do a lot to facilitate his Singular Strike. However, it’s better to concentrate on his slash power and enjoy the benefits on combat pages. Sayo has a +3. Sharpen Blade boosts your Slash Power to +5 while rolling 6 to 8 and buffing another page. Kim is able to play by +2 this turn.
If you aren’t sure, the effect on combat page like Sharpen Blade only applies to the character that is using it. You don’t have enemies to worry about, and it doesn’t also apply to allies.
Shi Association
We have two acts and 2 floors up next to the Circus.
Olga, Kim and Oscar are running in the same direction as Emma. Yujin’s Boundary of Death, as well as Kizuna which grants strength to the enemy after they are defeated, is the main gimmick. Boundary Of Death can be fatal. If this happens, you should try to pass it on to Oscar or Kim. They are unrelenting. Olga, if she has enough health can tank it and begin healing back up via discarding. All of them take Pierce damage. Olga takes Pierce Stagger.
You can use the minions and Valentin to blunt your attacks.
Yujin’s key page has no Resistance problems. It’s very good, for now. I made several builds using her inherent +1 power to all dice via Eyes of Death/Enervation.
I gave her Sayo’s passives in this build. It was a slash build. It powers up “To Overcome Crisis”, (. We’ll call it “Overcome” because it is slash. Yujin is able to enjoy Overcome by drawing a page, and restoring light.
Naturally, this build is blunt to take advantage of the low starting HP. If you don’t like it, swap the Overcome for two Puppet Blockades with a second Gigigigigig. This build is technically weaker that Emma because it has +2 blunt strength, but it does not have High-level Acrobatics. It does have Boundary of Death.
A pierce build. This is the most fragile because we do not have Urban Nightmare pierce fight pages.
Fun fact: Boundary to Death doesn’t really benefit from the additional pierce strength because rolling a 51 instead a 50 isn’t that big. Remember that the +45 is only possible if the NATURAL roll (is at least 25%. This means that any modifiers like passives and strength) between 14 and 4 must be MAX to get the +45. If Feeble is lower than a 4, you won’t be eligible for the +45.
Yes, Boundary of Death is my favorite. Yes, it is a meme, but it isn’t going away.
Scarecrow is Searching for Wisdom
If you wish, you can postpone this and come back with more powerful stuff later.
This is quite gimmicky because you need to evade/block die, so here’s Yujin’s surprise fourth build.
It’s safe to say that this isn’t going to be helpful if you don’t have an abnormality.
I added two librarians to your team, so I changed Emma slightly.
You may ask, “What the hell is going on with all the light regen?” Like Queen of Hatred, only one emotion level is available. You’re going to be short on light. If you exhaust all your light, you will be left with one light. It’s better to have some light to restore light next turn so you can still deal damage and have light. It’s also okay to use, such as Gigigigig, when you have enough light to do some damage.
Remember that counter-evade dice won’t disappear if a block dies wins, but they do not disappear if evade is used.
Pinocchio
Kim and Emma are grabbing Yujin using the Slash build. This one is simple. The game’s gimmick of telling lies isn’t too big because it clarifies when they will happen. The lies themselves aren’t subtle at all.
If you don’t enjoy Pinocchio using Boundary of Death, feel free to substitute Yujin with Oscar.
If you are having trouble due to randomized costs, they can be random RNG. However, you can probably get away without making your entire deck full 3 cost combat pages. You can still win with the traditional builds.
Sweepers
I went in with Yujin Olga Kim, Emma, and Kim. Oscar is the best as all the enemies can be weak to Pierce.
The main trick is to be cautious and assume that sweepers won’t die if their Persistence is sufficient. They also heal quite a bit after completing the Corpse Cleanup.
The primary purpose of the sweepers is to attribute their Health/Mind Haulers. They don’t have speed and also have weaknesses so I don’t plan on using them. “Sweep the Backstreets,” for the Family, and especially “Extract Fuel” are all excellent combat pages. I’ll use them later.
Little Red Riding Hooded Mercenary
If it is causing you trouble, feel free to come back to it later.
I was able to get this done with Emma, Olga, and slash Yujin.
This is not a tough fight because you can’t kill Wolf. Red must score the decisive blow. Red can use the speed dice to let her land her mass assault. This is especially useful when the wolf is low in HP.
Remember, you are limited to one emotion level.
Emma can trade a Creak off to get a third Puppet Blockade. Forceful Gesture cannot be replaced because you need the draw. Forceful Gesture also inflicts 1 power which is quite amazing.
Olga restores 3 lights per turn, so you should always be able to use Daring Decision.
Yujin’s Overcome, which restores light and draws a pager, is really great.
Index Proselytes
Now back on the normal track of left to right.
I’m going to Hod’s with my usual team of Olga Yujin Kim, Kim, Emma.
These jerks only care about one person. This strategy will make you lose your mind faster. They do introduce “Singleton.” Singleton’s condition that there be no duplicates in your deck is not adhered to by any of the decks that I’ve made so this is not something I have followed. Its primary purpose is to “Will of the Prescript.” It is a great combat page and helps Oscar greatly.
This is a bit better. Three light restores, two draws, for four pages.
Queen Bee
Malkuth will be her fifth Librarian.
I’m running in my usual team. I know that Oscar was just updated, but I’m not taking him.
This was much easier than I remembered. I beat all the worker bees in 2 scenes, staggered and beat the Queen on turn 3, then beat her Scene 4.
Malkuth Realization
If you wish, you can postpone this and come back with more powerful stuff later.
A realization is a test of your understanding of how to play the card game. This includes preparing decks and playing them.
I met Kim, Emma, and Olga. If you make good use of your economics page, it should be quite simple. Every time you turn, you draw a page and put one of your lights back on. At emotion level 5, you will draw two pages in place of one if you have at least two fighting pages. You’ll only be able to get one of your lights back, though.
When you hold Boundary of Death, Yujin will grant you “Happy Memories” if he is ignorant of your presence. This will enable Yujin to be selected by the abnormality page. Boundary of Death essentially costs 0 after two uses because of Overbreathing/Exhaustion, and after that, you’ll gain light for using it. As a result, any time you use anything that originally costs 4 or more, you’ll gain 2 light thanks to this effect. Vine is a beautiful aberration.
Smiling Faces
You get one floor for each act. It’s great that you have a floor with E.G.O. I have one floor available for the two acts, so that’s what you’ll be using.
Olga and Emma on Malkuth’s floors.
Yujin’s “Overbreathing/Exhaustion” passive restores 2 lights if she plays something that costs 4 or more. This gives her a unique edge when she plays expensive E.G.O. combat pages.
Wang’s key page is one of the most outstanding. He endures blunt rather than slash and “Sooty Twack,” his unique passive. The other passives only cost 1 each. Sooty Thuwack is also the most popular passive smoke.
This simple build is designed to give, gain, and keep smoke. It can also draw and restore sunlight. The passives simply add +1 power on all your rolls.
Laetitia & Big and Will Be Bad Wolf
I’m running for Laetitia with Olga Emma Yujin and Kim. If you’re feeling ambitious, a team consisting of three Emmas could wreck everything up. Olga’s discarding skills are as effective as you might imagine.
I’m running with Olga Emma and Yujin for Big and Will be Bad Wolf. As before, a team consisting of three Emmas can cause havoc.
The Crying Children
Malkuth’s Floor is the only one between Malkuth & Hod that has E.G.O. I’m going with her flooring. You have E.G.O., which is enough to beat a Realization. You have E.G.O. at your side.
Kim, I will quickly adjust to assist with the ranged attack. After you have finished, flip the page.
Kim’s Yield will have an amazing +5 thanks all the passives. It can also be +7 if Sharpen Blade was used in the same round. It’s almost certain to win against the ranged attack. Oscar’s Fleche, a great combat page for the ranged attack, is also available. Forced Gesture beats Restraint.
This page isn’t my favorite so I’m not going to use it. Oscar’s Sayo was my gift, so I had Oscar’s passives updated.
Oscar was given Mind Hauler, which increases Oscar’s survival chances.
Alriune and King Of Greed
Each of these librarians is assigned four.
Alriune is my run in with Olga Kim, Oscar, Emma, and Oscar. Focus on one minion at the moment, grab Laughing powder, and you should be fine. Fleche is extremely effective against her.
Yujin was not my choice. If the mass attack targets broken speed dice, then it’s a disaster.
I’m running for King of Greed with Oscar, Emma Wang, and Kim.
Yujin can be screwed over again by that broken speed die. Olga may also be able to discard the Fragment of Bliss. Learn the passives.
Secondary Team Update
Now that we have 5 librarians on 2 floors, I thought it would be a good idea to add a fifth member to the Full-Stop Team.
It is not as strong as the rest, but it is one more person doing damage to weaken the enemies.
WARP Cleanup Crew
There are two floors to cover the two acts. However, there are only four librarians per floor, so you don’t have to worry about the fifth Full Stop librarian.
My primary team is Olga, Yujin, and Emma on Malkuth’s floors.
Be aware of their “Overcharge.” Expect to lose the clashes. Overcharge’s best chance of winning is with Moulinet. Yujin was almost killed by Overcharge’s moves, so I had to swap Yujin for Oscar.
You might be expecting me to build a Rose-themed build. This guide is my guide. I just want you all to know that Rose is worse than Mars, and I won’t use her.
10/10 passive points – you should’ve just unlocked Star of the City. Take out one of the Haulers to get 8/8.
Deep Drag works well in this deck, as it doesn’t give any smoke to you, only the enemy.
To Star of the City
I will be splitting SotC across multiple parts. I believe two to three parts will be sufficient. One thing is sure, it won’t only be one part. I hope you found this helpful guide.
Did I grind 5 books of each book to have enough after burning them? Yes, I did.
This is all for Library Of Ruina Decks and Builds Gameplay hope you enjoy the post. If you believe we forget or we should update the post please let us know via comment, we will try our best to fix how fast is possible! Have a great day!
