This guide is easy to follow for beginners. I will show you both simple and more difficult high-damage combinations.

Welcome to my Jolyne’s Guide JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure

Jolyne is a fast, fun player. She can jump super high, parry and has lots Ora Ora.

This article is intended to be as beginner-friendly as possible. There are explanations for different moves and combinations, but also some more complicated ones.

Skip the explanations to get to the combos. Instead, go to the Cheat Sheet section.

If you have any suggestions for better combinations or if there is something I am missing, please let me be aware in the comments. I will update my guide to reflect.

Guide to Notation and Button Guide

4 is left, 6 are right, 2 are down, 8 are up, 5 is neutral.

Although it may seem strange to those who have played Street Fighter, or other non-anime fighting video games, you will soon become familiar with the notation. For example, a quarter-circle forward input would be written with 236L and 623L for a DP input.

  • L – Light Attack
  • M – Medium Attack
  • H – Heavy Attack
  • S – Stand on/off
  • A – Assist
  • HHA – Heart Heat Attack
  • GHA – Great Heat Attack
  • j – indicates that the attack is during jumping. So jM stands for jumping medium attack.

Now let’s move on to Jolyne!

Combos & Explanation

Easy Combo

ASBR’s Easy Beat and Easy Combo systems allow you to quickly pull off any combination by simply pressing 1 button repeatedly. The problem is that the easy combo version does not do as much damage as if you did the inputs normally.

You can enter the simple combination by simply typing L as follows:


  • L > > L> L> > L>

If you have 1 Bar of Heat Gauge, it will automatically include the HHA at the end.

However, Easy Combos will generate less meter to your HH Gauge. The Easy Combo automatically converts 236L to HHA. You can manually input the combo to get the heavy version, which will do more damage.

Jolyne’s difficult combination includes the following:


  • 5L>5M>5H>236H>HHA

Here is the combo damage difference:

This may not seem like much but it can make all the difference between winning or losing.

This opener is very common in these combos. I will abbreviate. 5L > 5M > 5H From now on, 5LMH

For example: 5L > 5M> 5H > 236H> HHA It becomes 5LMH >236H > HHA

Let’s use this basic combo to create some fun combinations.

We can squeeze 6H after the initial medium, heavy, and light, and see what happens.

  • 5LMH > 236H

  • 5LMH > 6H > 236H

6H is enough to increase the damage from 168 to 182.

Now that we have added the 6H, let’s swap it out. This will allow you to combine into “What Angle Is Best to Hit You From?” The medium and light versions will not land. This creates a 182 damage meterless combination.


  • 5LMH > 6H > 63214M

This is a good option, but can’t be combined with HHA like the previous combination.

GHA requires two bars and can be performed as part this basic combo


  • 5LMH> 6H> GHA

 

Assists

Once you’ve mastered Jolyne, there are some things that can be done to make it more.

Our a*sists can be used for additional meterless damage. But Jotaro is able to perform Jolyne’s basic combo twice if it is timed correctly.


  • 5LMH 236H a*sist > 5LMH 236H HHA

This results in a 435 Damage 1 Meter combo.

To pull off this feat, Jotaro must wait until Jolyne’s kicks are connected before activating Jotaro’s a*sist. Star Platinum can start a new combo as soon as Star Platinum has finished juggling the opponent.

You can also use Giorno’s a*sistance for this, but I have found Jotaro’s to be much easier to chain.

You can only get a certain number of a*sists per round.

Stand Mode Combos

Here are some more complicated combinations:

You may recall that Jolyne can use a string to pull herself up into the air in stand mode. This is what we will use to our advantage when combining air attacks with this combo.

These were written as 29 by me, but you could also input 19 if that’s easier.

Stand ON


  • 5LMH > 29jH > 5LMH > 29jH > 2M > 623H

This results in 248 meterless damages.

The timing for string jumping is very strict. You need to be able to release the direction to perform the jumping attack.

This can also be combined into HHA for 312 Damage with the following variation:


  • 5LMH 29jH 5LMH 29jH? 29jH? 29jH? 29jH??? > 29jH?? > 2M?? 236L? HHA


Sophie, how about if I start the combination without my stand on?

I’m glad you asked, person reading this right at the moment. For half the price of a Heat gauge, you can activate your stand in middle of a combination.

Get OFF

After activating our Stand, we are awarded a 264-damage combo.

We can also deactivate our position in the middle of a combination to disconnect Jolyne Stone Free and allow us to move independently while our opponent gets Ora Ora’d

This one has 288 Damage

Taunting Combos

You read that right. In certain situations, you can even taunt someone in the middle of a combination.

A special zoomed in taunt can be performed when you knock someone to the ground.

We can use the following combo to set up Jolyne’s string barrier (22M A), and then taunt the opponent to make sure that the animation is complete.

Stand ON


  • 29jH 5M 5H? 28jH? 236M? S > JH 5LMH??? 6H?? 63214M??? 22M? Taunt?? 5LMH??? 6H? GHA

This combo can only be done in the corner, but it will do 585 and a lot bonus emotional damage to your opponent.

Puttsun Cancel

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle R Best Combo for Jolyne Cujoh - Combos & Explanation - 1E6F742

Puttsun Cancel A14Y PC) or Flash Cancel B14Y FC) let you cancel an attack to increase a combo. This is similar in function to Roman Cancels, Guilty Gear.

During a move press all 3 attack buttons at the same time.

Jolyne will take a pose, and プッツ―ン is next to her.

You will now be able move or attack again. This takes 1 bar of heat.

You might recall the Jotaro a*sist combo. A similar combo can be achieved by using a computer instead of a*sist.

In this example, you will cause 269 damage.
