Just say it already, which is the best TOOL in Hunt: Showdown?

 
Alert trip mines? – no. 
Blank fire decoys? – no. 
First Aid Kit – of course you need this, but still, this is not the best. 
 
And the answer is: 
 
 
 
 

WHY? why? why Choke bomb?

 
okay lets make it clear, I present you… 
 
 
 
#1 – KILL IMMOLATORS 
 
Most of new players, and perhaps even you with 9274238472389 hours don’t know but you can actually kill a immolator with a choke bomb. 
It’s easy: 
 
— first, don’t agro him (or her, we never know), stay at a safe distance, something around 15-20 meters 
— hold the shoot buttom and aim to his hot head 
— IMPORTANT: DON’T THROW RIGHT AWAY, wait around 3-4 seconds and then release it 
–done, he’s dead. 
* you don’t need to hit his head, but he make a funny sound if you do. you will kill him anyway if he stays inside the smoke area. 
 
** it takes some practice to mastery this move, you will probably agro him and f**k it up some times before you understand how many time you need to hold the choke before relase. 
 
 
 
#2 – extinguish fire on your way 
 
I guess this is obvious and most players think Choke Bomb just work for it. 
Your way is on fire? 
Just clear it with our friend Choke-san. 
 
#3 – stop your partner to burn completely 
 
That’s perhaps the second (and last) reason most of players thinks Choke works for: to extinguish your down partner when some evil enemy decide to make a barbecue of your friends body. 
Well, it is obviously one of the main reason this tool exist. 
So, just help your teamates with it, when needed. 
 
#4 – clear poison cloud areas 
 
most players don’t know but you can say BYEBYE to any poison clouds with choke bombs. 
 
— your partner died inside a poison cloud? 
— the bounty is inside a big big green angry smoke? 
— lovely enemies decide to shot everywhere with crossbow poison? 
— spider blocked your way with green spit? 
NO PROBLEMA! 
just clear the poison gas with a choke bomb. 
 
 
 
#5 – (almost) silently burn chickens/dogs 
 
yep! best way to deal with barking good bois and chickens, don’t need to shot, throw a consumable, just aim your choke bomb in it and voilá, you burned dogs and chickens and even extishuiged the fire that may calls even more attention at night. 
 
#6 – use on combat: defensive 
 
ok, here a important use, that almost no one do. 
you can use it to preven enemies to advance. 
just pop one choke in a entrance, or where you think the enemies will rush. 
this will obviously make their life much harder, since it will be almost impossible to aim through. they will start coughing, shaking and you will have advantage if they decided to rush. 
 
#7 – use on combat: offensive 
 
by other hand, if you need to steal a bounty while the enemies are hiding cowardly inside a boss lair, just drop your choke inside of it, you will hear their cough, and knows exactly where they are. 
 
#8 – BUTCHER! 
Yes. Butcher hates choke bombs. 
It’s not a good idea to always fight him with choke, but it works depending of your strategy. 
Drop one inside of the lair and kill him with melee. 
It will make him do less dame, because most of his attacks are based on fire, and also he will take a small amount of damage every time he runs inside the smoke cloud. 
 
* if you are playing in a team, ask your teamates if they will use sticky bombs or bomb lance to kill the butch, if you drop a smoke it make both of this methods usless. 
 
 

Additional uses for Choke bomb…

 
^ avoid people to throw explosives in your direction, since the smokes ‘cuts’ the burning wick. 
 
^ it also works with bomb lance. if you are near a smoke cloud and someone just hit you with a bomb harpoon, just enter the cloud, it will cancel the explosion. 
 
^ annoy your friends on the extraction. yep, don’t need to save the choky-chokes for the next round, since they are tools, just drop in your friends face.

I forgot to say but you can also use two traits to get even more choke bombs: Packmule and Frontiersman.
