Hearts of Iron IV Quick Notes and Infantry Templates Guide.

Introduction and Quick Notes

This guide is intended for those who are new on tank design and division templates. This guide is intended for single players against AI. It is not suitable for advanced divisions. These divisions can be used as models.

They have combat stats that differ depending on the doctrine branch you decide to pursue. However, this should not be a problem since these divisions can eliminate AI. I am playing the USA that has the Superior Firepower doctrine, which is by default, which is unlocked.
Remember that a strong division without support is nothing.

Ensure you have enough supplies and air superiority, and ensure that your divisions are attacked by friendly Close Air Support (CAS). It is also essential to consider the location of these divisions. Having tank divisions fight the mountainous infantry is not a good idea. It’s also not ideal for large divisions to be placed together in a highly narrow front. Let’s start with the early division templates.

Early Infantry Templates

Every country will have at minimum one or two basic infantry templates. These templates for starting divisions typically vary from 8 to 24 combat inches in size. These templates shouldn’t exceed the 18 or 20 combat width.

The infantry 10 combat width division is not recommended without a garrison order placed (or manually placed). This order will cover your ports as well as the tiles surrounding them. They are simple to make and can be used as an emergency defense until more combat divisions are available.

The 18 combat width infantry regiment is a general-purpose division. I recommend this division to protect your ports and fill the front line. The number of military factories that can produce support equipment will determine the number of support companies. This division should include at least one engineer support company with support artillery. A cavalry recon company is highly recommended.
